Review Centre: Wedding Bands

"A band at the Waterside Theatre took Beatles fans on the fastest and most hectic time trip imaginable as they ripped through the history of the world’s greatest pop group. Tribute The Fab 5 took the Aylesbury venue’s Second Space by storm to dash off around 45 songs in a two and a half hour gig that gave new meaning to value for money. Taking a leaf out of their heroes’ book, The Fab 5 worked their socks off in an almost non-stop succession of numbers that covered the original band’s dizzying collection of hits from 1963-70. They deserve the highest praise for not only offering a faithful rendition of the Beatles’ hits (many of which are incredibly hard to play and sing live) but a tantalising insight of what it would have been like to actually hear the music live in its day. Standout action featured a triumphant medley from Abbey Road and a stunning rendition of A Day In The Life, while a horn trio added colour and authenticity. There’ll only be one original Fab Four but there’s only really one creditable tribute band and that’s The Fab 5. As Carly Simon sang, nobody does it better..."

"Kirsty was amazing, she absolutely nailed the brief and really got the crowd going. The dancefloor was full the whole evening and she managed to get all guest requests in. She was absolutely awesome and really took the time to understand what we wanted. She went above and beyond at every step – even helping us with other wedding bits like lighting etc. Would hesitate to book Kirsty again, she really made the evening so special and we couldn’t be more grateful – thank you so so much!!!"

"The night was a huge success and Christian surpassed himself with a wonderful array of songs from the shows, popular hits from the charts of today and yesterday and a few special requests thrown in. With his charm and charisma and a very warm sense of humour the audience were up on their feet dancing the night away. Christian’s acting experience also shone through as he wooed many of the female guests and cajoled them into taking part in some of the fun songs and dances. Christian’s voice was indeed a hit with us all and made our celebration evening – we could have listened to him all night and wished we hadn’t booked a disco to complete the evening. Well done Christian and thank you! We would love to have you back at another of our events and would recommend you without hesitation. We wish you well in your career."

"Had these guys play at our wedding, and what a show they put on! So many comments from so many guests about how great the band were, how unique they were and how they haven’t seen anything like it before. The set was fantastic, they kept everyone up on the dance floor. Their own spin on classics and modern tracks is amazing and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a live band, and not just for a wedding. They were organised, kept in contact throughout, and were never anything that we needed to worry about. Would just like to thank you guys again for being such a great part of the day!"

"Superb Band at COUP in Swansea. Vocalists are above normal standard, Amy Winehouse / Adele level and its true they keep everyone on the dance floor, just about everyone danced almost until midnight. I wouldn't be surprised to see this band go further one day! "

"The RockPins played at my 50th party and, from the kids to the aunties, managed to get everyone up, dancing and having a great time. Not only was the music fantastic, full of fun and energy, but the whole band were a pleasure to have with us. Very responsive throughout booking, arrived and set up on time, and played a massive part in us all having a cracking night. Thanks again, Joel."

"Sounds Interesting String Quartet played at our wedding ceremony on 1st October at St Chad Church and then at our reception at Stockton House afterwards. Not only was their music set fantastic throughout the day (playing both classical and more modern tunes) but they went above and beyond to ensure a special love actually style "All you need is love" performance in the church went off without a hitch!! Throughout the planning process Anne worked tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly on the day and we could not recommend them more highly for any special occasion! "

"My mate, Mick, and I have seen many "cover bands" and there are some really good ones regularly doing the pubs. All The Legends, however, are probably the best we have seen! You do not have a weak member! Instrumentally and vocally you are excellent all round! I played in bands all over London for years and I truly respect you all. You also present great charisma on stage!"

"We would like to send a big thank you for such great entertainment at my son's wedding. You were fantastic and we have had so many comments on your great performance. The disco in the evening was perfect and you got most people up which was some feat! We are going to try and see again when we can focus 100% on you! The wedding day went so fast and I know we missed a lot, everyone has commented on a great day and thank you for being part of it. P.S. You got my husband's Italian aunt up to sing and that made her day, in fact I think she now wants to do duets with you!"

"The actual booking process was easy and although it took a little while for the band to get in touch, it was all handled very professionally. Jonah from the band called me to confirm before the event too. The band were great. - Note from Director of Music. This was the bands first event with us and so they didn't realise they were allowed to speak to the client direct hence the delay in them getting touch."
