"From the moment we met Francis of Band One Steel Band we knew we had to have the band a part of a wedding! I can say that the bad were amazing! They played during our cocktail hour and really brought the energy to the day! They made the occasion memorable! Our family and friends loved them and we loved them! They have great range of songs and they also can performance new pieces of music that you may request. Please do not hesitate to book this wonderful band to be a party of your special occasion! "Small Days guitarist Dave Merrick was the master of ceremonies, with vocalist Natalie Davies and sax player Brendan Whitmore joining him for the live songs. Dave unfolded the story at a well-judged pace, with records of Bessie Smith’s evocative voice even drawing applause from the attentive audience whenever they were included. The live contribution was important, too, and Natalie wisely steered away from imitating Bessie’s full-throated contralto to emphasis the singer’s lyrics with an upbeat swing on numbers like Need A Little Sugar and Send Me To The Electric Chair. Brendan Whitmore switched between soprano and tenor sax, the former particularly eloquent on Need A Little Sugar, the latter coming to the fore on T’Aint Nobody’s Business If I Do. All in all it was a satisfying journey through blues history with one of the great women who made the music what it became. "Massive shout out to these guys.....they were fab! Played at my wedding last month after it being postponed previously due to Covid & during the last 2 years they have been a pleasure to liase with, so likeable & down to earth, with great sense of humours!!!! Very talented group of lads with amazing vocals from Steve the lead singer AKA Bocelli!!!!!! Who sang our first dance song which was Perfect!!! :) Couldn't recommend them higher enough......so much so I might have to start planning another wedding so I can have them play again!!
