Review Centre: Irish Bands

"I am writing to thank you so much for providing the amazing band, Funk With Us to perform at our Chamber Awards Thursday 18th November at Westenhanger Castle. The dance floor was full from the start of the band playing to the very last number with shouts of ‘more’ from the audience after the last one was played. Funk With Us added another level to our most successful Awards evening yet and we have had so many compliments from the guests. Every member of the band was brilliant from the 2 singers who invited the dancers to sing with them on vocals, the saxophonist mingling and the solo guitar performance, drums, bass and keys. "This group totally made our evenings watching them play live. My husband was mesmerised by the grahams guitar playing and I loved Kelly’s singing - all genres from old 50’s to present day hits. They were friendly, had great banter with the audience and made you feel like they were playing just for you. Everyone loved them so if you’re trying to please a crowd or want something more intimate - book them, you won’t be disappointed."

"We were lucky enough to be on a cruise with this fantastic duo outstanding performances throughout all different genres in there repertoire and such lovely people if you ever need to book a duo I can guarantee you will not be disappointed with “it takes 2” we can’t wait to see them again."

"We had a joint 50th & 80th birthday party. Black Velvet were fantastic. Great musicians and made the Barn dance run smoothly. We had ages from 5 to 80 and they tailored everything perfectly. Made it a birthday to remember."

"What a fabulous band!! A real crowd pleaser, with a fantastic repertoire to suit the different atmospheres we were trying to create at different times during our event. "Thank you, guys, for finding time beforehand to rehearse with Amy, the bridegroom’s sister, who sang Elton John’s “Your Song” for the bride and groom’s 1st dance. It was beautiful and very special to have her sing their first song with accompaniment from the band. I think everyone was very moved by it (we are hoping someone filmed it but are not sure!). The dance floor was packed all evening for the ceilidh and we all had great fun - which was the intention. It was an amazing day, evening and whole weekend - we carried on the celebrations on Sunday! Thank you to Black Velvet Band for helping to make the wedding so memorable. "
