They got the crowd going and kept them under ‘control’ with a brilliant blend of instructions and banter even as we inevitably got a little rowdier towards the end. "My WI group just had one of the best nights out with the Barnbuskers. We are not the best at taking orders but the Caller was very patient and we had such fun. I haven’t laughed that much for a long time and all the ladies present felt the same. Very talented musicians and well worth hiring for an event. Julie x"

"More than just a wedding band; they provide a tailor made service that is of the highest, professional quality. We both work in the entertainment industry and were struggling to find a band that would meet our exacting standards but they completely blew us away and we had the best wedding party ever! The dance floor was FULL all night."

"The booking process was very simple and Mark was really helpful and communicative during the lead up to our event. He was really open to listening to our brief and ideas, and sharing his own to make for a great event! Everyone really enjoyed the evening."

"We booked the BVB for our wedding in April at Stonehouse Court. We specified Celtic music and they were excellent – they even learned a song for me to sing with them in two weeks flat! True musicians who really know their stuff. They were punctual and did not skimp on time – not taking lengthy breaks between songs which I know some do. A really great experience – I thoroughly recommend them."

"Amazing night with joyous music from the band from start to finish. Very accommodating for our age span of 8 years to 80 years! Plenty of caller participation to get us all going in fun dances which everyone said made them ache the next day! I heartily recommend them. Very friendly too! "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 16/07/2021 / Cecilia and Johny’s Wedding Mike and the Black Velvet Band played at our wedding and put together a fantastic set. They had very thoughtfully come up with some more Covid secure dances to cater for people wishing to stay in their respective bubbles but managed to maintain the energy and enthusiasm throughout. The music was brilliant and the calling was the best that I’ve seen at a ceilidh (a difficult skill to perfect!). We did 6 or 7 dances and the band very considerately asked how we (my wife and I) would like to lead the dances to ensure plenty of people engaged but we had no concerns as everyone joined in. All of our guests were delighted and we can’t thank the band for stepping in at relatively short notice, we had a brilliant time."

"Mark and I can’t thank you enough, everyone said how great the band was. It was great because you got everyone up and dancing, it made the evening of the wedding. Communication throughout was great and any questions and queries were answered. Would definitely recommend or if we were to have another function/party we would definitely rebook.
