"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 08/04/2023 / Ceilidh for Eastercon 2023 (Sci Fi enthusiast's convention) We had a fun-filled, joyous ceilidh, thanks to the amazing, talented Black Velvet Band.The band members are great fun. Alan had us laughing so much with his warmth and humour when calling the dances. The booking process was straightforward and professional. When I talked on the phone to Mike in advance, I was assured that these guys knew their stuff. When I requested non-gendered calling, that was no problem. The band are very versatile - they added a little Star Trek and Dr Who music, seamlessly, into the ceilidh tunes, to give us an extra-special thrill! "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Janet’s 69th Birthday Ceilidh – June 2025 Oh what a night it was! Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio was the perfect choice for a celebration. They chose dances that matched the skill and enthusiasm of my guests. Setting the right pace is good when lots of guests belong to a running club! Guests from Hong Kong, Greece, Vietnam China and USA had no idea what they were coming to … The band arrived on time, setting up easily and Phil’s friendly manner of instruction was just right. My 6 year old niece (who is VERY shy) shocked her mother by joining the dancing! Lovely comments from guests: “I haven’t danced like that in years” and ” The most fun and dis-organised chaos I’ve had in ages!"

"Black Velvet Band helped make the Souldern Village Ceilidh a great success. Ours was a Village event with all ages and the Band got all ages dancing. They played superbly and brought a caller with a good sense of fun. They provided music to dance to, music to listen to and an entertainment show all in one! On a practical level they were professionally early arriving, leaving the event organiser relaxed and free to have a drink! Greatly appreciated in all regards. Ian Grey"

"What a treat it was to have Ruby come and entertain the Homeowners on the 20th June 2020 in the grounds of Brueton Place. Not only is she a Great Entertainer her warmth and happy personality is a joy. She has something for all age groups, and you certainly go home singing a tune and with a spring in your step. Highly recommend the lovely Ruby."

"Absolute brought their acoustic roaming band to play our wedding reception at Cain Manor and did not disappoint. They created an amazing atmosphere outside before and after the ceremony. They also played my wife walking down the aisle which really added to the emotion. I'm sure they would also make an awesome evening band now dancing is allowed again! "We were recommended to hire Absolute to play at my wife’s 50th party we were not disappointed. Guys turned up on time, were highly professional, but most importantly had the dance floor full for the entire evening. They received so many compliments. We went for the 6 piece line-up. "The band were absolutely fantastic and were great for a party at the pub! They drove all the way from London to North Yorkshire to play for our wedding welcome party. "Well what can I say! I have recently got married and Absolute played for us at our special day! They were amazing! They were so accommodating…. with a LOT of requests given to them beforehand !! They did not disappoint! They sang a range of all songs… there was something for everyone!! !! Everyone is still talking about how good this band were now!!! The dance floor was packed out all night long! They were great fun and we had the best time! We couldn’t recommend them enough and we thank them for the best day of our lives!!!!
