Review Centre: Covers Bands

"We were recommended Kirsty via Freddie, the pub manager at the Prince Albert. He gave us a few DJs to look at so we could decide for our wedding - Kirsty's communication is excellent. We corresponded via email and then found a time to talk on the phone. My then fiancée and now wife both warmed to Kirsty instantly over the phone. She is personable, with a really good understanding of music, she understands London culture, as well as the music I grew up with (and music would have enjoyed at university), and has an appreciation for the international music we requested. Her 'do not play' list was a great feature for us too, so we could make sure there were no toe-curling moments in the night or artists who we just didn't want played. She got on very well with our guests and made everyone feel at home - she has obviously spent time honing her craft as well as understanding how people tick. "We wanted to get in touch to officially thank you for helping to make our big day even more special. Alice and I spent many evenings sitting at home ploughing through online video clips of bands and were so pleased we found Stargazers. The band lived up to our expectations and made our day even more special. Thank you to both you and Andy for playing the acoustic set while the photos were being taken. While we didn’t get to hear much of this, our guests were extremely complimentary and your music was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you for bearing with us in the evening. Alice and I had an absolutely brilliant evening and really enjoyed dancing the night away. Stargazers was everything we wanted and much, much more! You were so kind with the bridesmaids and my nephew who joined in the Bandeoke. They felt so special and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Our guests loved every minute of it! You played a fantastic mix of songs which got everyone up and dancing for the whole evening. We have never danced so much but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! "

"From start to finish, the Rag Tag Misfits were an absolute delight to deal with. They were fast to respond to our emails, super helpful and sweet and learned a very special song for us to play me down the aisle at our wedding. They make a wonderful team, the music is amazing and they are so down to earth and lovely! They played before and during our ceremony and then during our canape reception afterwards. "It’s not every day you are 50, so having a chance to celebrate with friends & family you want a night to remember and the choice of band is a big part of the event. Having found Firefly on this site, I hoped the choice was a good one, and having heard how good even their sound check was, I knew straight away it was. The band were amazing with a great mix of music to keep us dancing all night, I would highly recommend them to anyone, and the saxophone makes it extra special. Good luck to Suzy & the band , and hope to hire you again in the future. "

"We can honestly say that The Southern Sons made a huge impact at our party. The band played many notable covers designed to get the party in the mood for dancing. With their own folk twist to songs, The Southern Sons got everyone on their feet. It was obvious that the band members were accomplished musicians and the lead singer provided an excellent vocal performance. We would definitely book the band for future events at Lower Tregiddle."

"Top class performers. Professional but relaxed and so warm and friendly. Incredible and versatile voices and they knew just how to get the party started. Catherine is a total and utter delight - from communicating with her prior to the event right through to saying a final goodbye. Sassy, fun loving, beautiful inside and out and with a voice that sends shivers down one’s spine. I promise that if you are lucky enough to have Loose Shoes being available for whatever event you are planning you will be as thrilled and delighted as me. First class in every way. "Fuego performed at our wedding in August this year having booked them about a year in advance – and we're so glad we did! In the lead up to the big day, Rhona (band manager) liaised with us to come up with a set list perfect for us with the songs we liked from their repertoire, as well as learning a couple more new songs especially. On the day itself, the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone – the band, our guests and we – had an amazing time. Since then we've had a number of compliments from guests about the music. We couldn't fault the performance, and would not hesitate in recommending them! "
