"We are so grateful to Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio for making our fundraising ceilidh a great success with delightful music and dancing. The level of challenge of the dances was pitched just right to tempt our guests (who were aged from 4 to 84) to have a go – and they all came away with big smiles on their faces! Phil – the band’s friendly caller – gave just the right amount of instruction and then a quick recap before each dance and was happy to adapt dances to suit some of the children. Arrangements and payment were all handled professionally and efficiently. Thank you so much for helping us raise over £300 for our cause!"

"Your performance was exactly as we had imagined and, given that the age range was vast your repertoire catered for everyone from my 89 year old father (who was mesmerised!!) to the toddlers who enjoyed a boogie! All of our guests complimented your performance and I wouldn't be surprised if some of them contact you for future events."

"A huge thank-you for a wonderful night's music at my 60th birthday party. Such an amazing customised personalised set, which not only set the perfect atmosphere for the night, but got all generations up on the dance floor. It was amazing to see a rock & roll band turn into a trad Jazz band by bringing in friends on other instruments. The in-house arrangements were just phenomenal. To hear Floyd's 'Wish You were here' accompanied by banjo was so unexpected but worked perfectly! The standard four piece party numbers were, as always, absolutely brilliant. This night was very special and will never be forgotten"

"What can I say........first of all they are a top bunch of last all with infectious personalities. They know there craft well and work had improving their standards each time I've seen them play. They have huge pride and put a lot of energy in to each event they perform at again looking for nothing less than perfection. They can cater for any occasion if given a vision they can work from which gives them a licence to use there gifted minds to produce the ultimate showdown. Open to ideas and requests they are understanding of the customers needs which ensures that all parties recieve great value for money. The future is bright for these four men who are ambitious to be successful in the music scene. You will not be disappointed!!!"

"Joe is the ultimate professional - and won over guests of all ages (from fussy teens all the way up to family in their 70s and 80s!) which is no easy task! So glad we booked him and he was a part of our special day! As some of my relatives are Turkish, I asked Joe if he could play 1 or 2 instrumentals of some popular Turkish pop songs if he could find the music sheets online - he ended up learning the handful of songs I shared with him, sang in Turkish the choruses of each and created a Turkish mega mix for us. Even my UK friends are still going on about it 6 weeks later! To be clear, Joe had never heard these songs before and does not speak Turkish. We planned a wedding in 1 month and appreciated Joe’s approach - he shared his suggested playlists which were all great and had a bit of everything for all music tastes and contacted the venue himself to understand noise restrictions and logistics to free up our time. He’s proactive and doesn’t need hand holding. He’s got an amazing voice and vibe and experience of judging the room which was important to us given it was a small intimate wedding (40 people) and we really weren’t sure how the day would land. It is testament to not only what an amazing talent Joe is but how driven he is in making your special day everything you want it to be. There were some songs I also wanted my husband and I to hear together so I told Joe what these were and he didn’t let us down - with a busy wedding and Photo Booth and toilet breaks etc. we weren’t always in the same spot but some how Joe managed it.
