Review Centre: 1970s & 80s Style Bands

"The Covered played at our wedding in London recently and from the first minute after we booked to their last song at the wedding they were thoroughly professional, personable, and great fun. They played a two-hour-plus set that got everyone up dancing like lunatics. What more could you ask for!? Their song list spans from the 60s through to the now and the band read the crowd to make sure the next song played is going to keep everyone up and dancing. We booked them knowing very little about them, but we're so glad we did. John was extremely helpful throughout the process and goes the extra yard to make his clients happy."

"Now what can I say about the Band, Solid Gold. The event was my Masonic Lodge Ladies evening, of which I have the great honour of being master in its centenary year. As a result I wanted the evening to be the best possible, I was not disappointed. Paul and the band arrived mid afternoon for the event even though they were not due on stage until 9pm. Communication between us prior to the event was excellent, very professional and informative, then we get to the evening itself. WOW!!! What a night, over the years I have booked acts for many organisations and I have got to say Solid Gold stand out as the best by a country mile. Every single person had a fabulous evening and that was down to Solid Gold. During our pre event discussion Paul ask for details of the event, what kind of audience it would be and what kind of music I would like them to perform. As a result the band put together a playlist that was absolutely perfect, unbelievably now knowing that I am a big fan of The Who they set about learning a couple of Who songs,which they had never done before, perfect!!!! If anyone is looking for a band that are musically excellent, reliable and know just how to entertain an audience, Solid Gold have got to be their number one option, I cannot praise them enough. Thank you so much"

"We love Kitsch-up! We have booked them for two family parties now and we'll have them back next year. So much fun, they have everyone singing along and are happy to include one or two requests eg Piano Man by Billy Joel, which we all love. Highly recommended!"

"Had a fantastic night at Paper Dress vintage shop Hackney listening to VintageVoltage and the Black Vipers. BV started the gig rocking the 70's vipe warming the place up. Then VV took it too boiling point playing brilliant 70's tracks from Fleetwood mac too Led Zep using guests vocalists and extra musicians to bring the 70's dream to life. The place rocked, bounced and we were the chorus, it was magic."

"Revival played at my cousin's wedding last night. Wow, what a wonderful night. They played a mix of music that all ages were dancing to. They had fantastic feedback and my mother and father in law are still talking about them this morning! "Christian and the band were excellent from start to finish. From the initial booking right through to when they left at the end of the evening. A very professional group of young musicians who made our evening a fantastic success. Each musician was fantastic in themselves and the lead singer was a fabulous, energetic young lady who sang as good or even better than many a pop star. Even before the party started when we had problems with the delimiter the band members kept us totally informed until we were able to sort out the problems at the hall. We have have feedback from many of our guests and each and everyone of them were totally impressed with the musicians. "Rocking" and "the best band ever" were some comments to name but a few. We had a great band at my daughter's wedding and didn't think they would be matched. However, Funky Friday hit the spot in every way and the dance floor was full all evening. We would book them again if the need arose and anyone looking for a class act would be well advised to book these up as they were outstanding in every way."
