Review Centre: Function Bands

"Mitch is the band contact and he was a pleasure to deal with, answering any questions promptly and thoroughly. And when we had short notice requests these were dealt with straight away. The band have a number of line ups to suit any occasion, we maybe could have gone bigger but we decided on the 5 piece as this suited the size of the venue (Woodstock Weddings, York) and the set lists suited us to the ground. They are also always open to making any slight alterations to their setlist if desired. My short notice request was to add the option for the afternoon acoustic duo and this was accommodated with no issues. The acoustic duo was Mitch and Sarah then the rest of the band arrived in the evening. For both sessions the music was a mixture of all genres and decades and everyone commented on how well they interacted with the whole wedding party. Mitch, Sarah and the rest of the band did an amazing job and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. If they are on your radar, get them booked. You will not regret it."

"Eccentric Pony were the most perfect choice for our tipi wedding reception - we couldn't stop dancing all night! From start to finish, the guys were friendly, organised and enthusiastic. They went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and created a fantastic atmosphere, encouraging everyone to get involved and have fun. We have received a lot of compliments from guests since. We now want to find an excuse to be able to book them again!"

"Wow. What a performance. Sunny played at Cabra Bar in Cheddar Gorge and thrilled the crowd from beginning to end. Young and old were on the dance floor, singing along to his own songs, a hand full of covers and some brilliant mash ups. Sunny will leave you happy, smiling and humming away all night. I highly recommend same for public or private events, you will not be disappointed. Sunny.... We Got Love!!!!!"

"The guys were absolutely brilliant, all our wedding guests commented on how good they were. They were more than happy to learn our first dance and then went straight into their repertoire! "We booked this band for our wedding and they were absolutely amazing. They were so professional from start to finish, any questions were answered quickly and they were so helpful and gracious. They learnt and did an acoustic song for our first dance and were just brilliant from start to finish. Everyone really enjoyed their set and we have had so many questions about them and requests for their details. They are also a real set of gents! Just a lovely band to have for any occasion. "What a joy, terrific voice, great jazz songs, remembered all the words and was willing to learn/practice any significant songs prior to the event. Having the live music made our event so much more memorable, that I will definitely consider doing again. Wedding Singer came to our party with a pianist and bass player and they were absolutely wonderful, they felt like part of the party but were not obtrusive, so the guests felt comfortable enough that they could chat, laugh and be relaxed. Maya and the musicians were so flexible and although we had great weather, were very accommodating and flexible fitting in with the set up in a moderate space. Thank you so much for making the day that much more special."

"The band were superb - especially given the massive delay before you were able to perform, and the fact that we forgot to bring the interval playlist(s)! Our guests were extremely complimentary and said they really enjoyed the band and the dancing. So thank you - and thank you for making it all so easy for us too. "Something Sweet were absolutely fantastic at my 30th birthday and really made my party. They were very pleasant to deal with before, during and after the event and the songs they played were spot on for easy listening and even some dancing. All the guests commented on how professional they were and what a great sound they had. The singer has a gorgeous voice. Would definitely book them again, and recommend them to others! 10/10. "The band was booked to play at our fund raiser event at Farringdon Village Hall, East Devon. We had organised a village Barn Dance / Social in order for parishioners to gather from around the extensive parish, and to raise funds for the village hall. Wow! How great were these guys!!!??? Simply brilliant. Three very laid back, no fuss, no nonsense musicians who worked wonders in getting everyone dancing to some great tunes. Even die-hard 'non-dancers' were dancing. A friend and neighbour found this band and recommended that we use them. What a great choice. We would certainly recommend Blue Jewel to anyone considering hiring a professional local Ceilidh band. Thank you very much Blue Jewel; you certainly helped make the night a great success."
