Review Centre: Classical Ensembles

"Royal String Ensemble played at our wedding ceremony at Gaynes Park, in Epping Forest on the 3rd of January 2017. The group were absolutely fantastic, many of my guests came up to me in the reception to comment and how good they were. The band were highly professional and very attentive to my ideas, they were happy to mix their conventional classical music pieces with some modern pop songs I had selected. The band met with me prior to my wedding day for an initial consultation to discuss what I'd like on the day, the format, theme of the wedding etc., they then provided me with some ideas of music that they had played at other weddings and were always extremely responsive to my emails. In particular the band really stood out and went the extra mile by kindly agreeing accompany my brother and sister (both amateur guitar and drum players) in playing a song at our wedding. This involved them re-writing the sheet music in the correct key, meeting with my brother and sister one evening to rehearse the song, and then arriving at the ceremony earlier than usual to rehearse with my brother/sister before the start of the ceremony. They are a fantastic group and I am sure they will have a hugely successful future ahead of them, they certainly made my wedding ceremony very special and unique, as one of my guests said when describing their music "they are certainly one to remember.""

"We were both overjoyed at the services you provided for our wedding on 16th April 2015 at The Upperhouse, Barlaston, Staffs. From our original enquiry, right through to the final played piece on the day, the total experience and contact was nothing but professional. You gave us suggestions to help to us decide what we wanted based on your experience, but were also more than happy to accommodate any thoughts or ideas we had. It was great to see the extensive repertoire of the musicians beforehand to help make our choices and to see our date on your websites up coming events. On the big day, none of our guests knew of the trio performing and were absolutely amazed at the playing on their arrival, at the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. Everyone commented on how good the music was and how it delicately enhanced the occasion, especially as we were able to have the ceremony outside in the pagoda at venues gardens. The trio also took some requests at the wedding breakfast which was a nice touch. I have passed on your details to all of my guests. The most difficult thing about delivering the piece is in managing the demands Elgar makes whilst always being present in the moment and understanding the purpose. It is a truly unique piece of music and I could not have wished for a more wonderful and confident group of players. "I booked Martin and Natalie as a string duet for my wedding almost 18 months in advance and throughout the whole planning process and the day itself they were so professional, accommodating and talented. Martin and Natalie learned my partner and I's requested wedding ceremony songs, and worked on a bespoke arrangement for the music I walked up the aisle too. They did it all with enthusiasm and nothing was too much trouble. On the day, their music was the perfect soundtrack to our wedding, and lots of our guests have told me how much they enjoyed listening. Martin and Natalie were also generally a pleasure to spend time with - they were so warm and made time to talk to me, my partner and members of the wedding party. I'm so glad they were part of our day and can't recommend them highly enough."

"We were thrilled with the music! (On the 15th of May 2015 at Oxenfoord Castle). We thought you guys did a fantastic job during the ceremony. We have had a chance to look back at some of the videos and the pieces that we asked you to learn sounded great (2 new arrangements of Irish folk pieces). Unfortunately we missed most of the music during the drinks reception due having photos taken, but we spoke to lots of guests who all said the music was brilliant.  And I believe a few of the Canadian’s were trying to pressure you into staying longer – sorry about that!  Overall we had a great day, and we think our guests did too, and you and your players were a big part of that, so we’d like to thank you for your great effort."
