Review Centre: Function Bands

"I hired Blue Jewel Ceilidh band to play for my 60th birthday party at my local village hall. I had never heard them play before but going on previous recommendations I felt certain they would be okay. How right I was! Well, if fact they were more than okay - they were bandtastic! Their playing is brilliant and they created a fantastic atmosphere. Steve made sure he brought me and my husband and sons right into the swing of things, mentioning us by name whenever he could and he certainly made it feel like "my" party and not just any old party they might be playing at. There was quite a mix of ages, but everyone joined in with the dancing, (yes, even my non-dancing- unless-he's-had-a-few-pints, husband!!). Steve and his colleague were excellent callers and made the dances very easy and great fun. We are still laughing and talking about what a wonderful evening it was. I have no hesitation in recommending Blue Jewel. They will make your party go with a swing! "

"Kiki and The Noughtie Boyz played at our wedding and Kiki DJ’d between the bands sets. They were absolutely amazing - everyone was up dancing and many of our guests have commented on how good they were. Best function band we have seen! Thank you for an amazing night and for all your help and support in the run up!"

"We booked Kirsty for our wedding and we are super happy we did. Kirsty contacted us before the day to discuss all the details and our preferences. She was happy for us to send over a playlist of our favourite songs. I knew from her fantastic and prompt communication prior to the wedding that Kirsty was going to be great and it really put us at ease. On the day she was so organised, professional and relaxed. She chatted to us and our guests prior to the set which was lovely. We loved the set and so did our guests. We would recommend Kirsty for any wedding - she was brilliant. "In the lead up to our wedding they were always very professional to deal with, responding quickly to any questions we had and happy to adapt set lists and timings to exactly what we wanted. We had them for our evening wedding reception and they were fantastic! On the night they were absolutely brilliant and had our guests on their feet from their first song right up to the end. All our guests (even our older guests) have all complimented the band, the mix of songs they played was perfect. People were asking me how much they were and all agreed they were cheap for how good they are, and so much better than your typical wedding band. We were running a bit over time so they cut their break down to 15 minutes for us so we didn't miss out on any of their set list. They dressed smartly for the occasion and Louise and Sam were so helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. I honestly couldn't recommend then enough! I'm just trying to find another occasion that I can have an excuse to use them! We have had lots of comments from guests about how good the band were and what a good range of tracks they played. We would definitely recommend them."

"Wow wow wow wow wow! What a band! We hired Madison Avenue for our wedding reception and they were absolutely amazing! They played some fantastic songs that were great for all generations. I do not think the dance floor was empty once for the whole time they played. Communication with the band prior to the event was brilliant. Emails were answered within a day, and questions (no matter how small) were answered in detail. The band even learnt a song for our first dance, which was so thoughtful of them and so kind - Thank you! Every single guest to our wedding has said to me how great they thought the band were, and I could not agree more. Do not hesitate to hire these guys, they are AMAZING. Thank you all for making my wedding so special."

"I looked at hundreds of local bands and their YouTube sets before deciding to contact Radio Dukes because they looked like they created a great night. We couldn't have had a better band - they were amazing. From the first moment I spoke to Mitch he was accommodating, understanding and flexible to some of our unique circumstances. On the night the band members were fantastic and REALLY understanding of the dinner overrunning. They had everything set up in super quick time, had music to take us through dinner and had a couldn't do enough for us attitude. Most importantly though - they were bloomin' good! EVERYONE hit the dance floor for most of the night and the band created a fabulous atmosphere with a set that got everyone up and bouncing! If you're thinking about booking them - don't think - just do it - you won't regret it! "

"We booked The Leathernecks for our wedding, from the first engagement onwards they have been enormously accommodating and professional. Nick and the team couldn’t do enough to make our day as special as possible. The set itself was fantastic, we have had many guests commenting something along the lines of ‘best wedding band they have ever heard’ and for the duration of both sets we couldn’t get people off the dance floor if we tried! Many thanks again to Nick and the whole team, if you are thinking about booking a band for any occasion these would the ones I would pick."

"Amazing! It was so lovely to work with Kathryn and the group to create a beautiful bit of music for our wedding. They were so helpful and accomodating and went above and beyond to obtain sheet music and learn new pieces for us. Could not have been happier with them and the beautiful music they played for us. Wish I could have them all over again with time to just sit and listen to it all! Very grateful to have had them be part of the day."
