Review Centre: Bands & Ensembles

"Rastrum played for our Burns Night at the University of York last week and it was one of the most successful student events we've had in months! It was the perfect setting for students to relax and have fun with old and new friends. The atmosphere was just buzzing and we've already had requests from students asking to do this again. The band were flexible with our venue change and were generous with the dances. The caller was very clear and warm which made the evening incredibly inclusive, especially as over 100 of our students had no idea what a ceilidh was at the start of the evening! So by popular demand I think we'll be getting a ceilidh booked in again very soon. And last but not least, the band play together perfectly and the tunes they chose were brilliant. "

"They really kept everybody energized! Where do I begin? Function Republic really looked after me from start to finish. So quick to get back to me from my barrage of questions! "Our Summer Drinks is an important occasion in our calendar bringing together friends and stakeholders to celebrate our work over the year as a small arts charity in Holloway. Moon River proved to be a fantastic addition to the event bringing elegance and perfectly pitched music to compliment the evening. The trio responded to the brief with style and provided a diverse repertoire in keeping with the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. With such professionalism and reliability, we would recommend them to anyone looking for musicians to bring something extra special to their events."

"I'm one of those blokes who sit in the corner with my Diet Coke at a party and believe that any money spent on a band at a party could be better spent but Eccentric Pony have completely changed my view. If they'd have charged twice as much, they'd have been fantastic value. They do everything set up, disco and play - you don't need much more for a great night and they're a fantastic band - they got every one of us children of the 80's up dancing - they got the mood spot on - played some great songs - really nice blokes - just brilliant."

The mix of music was brilliant and by the end of the evening really had people up and dancing. We can't thank you enough. "The Cheers sang for us at a recent party, on a very cold night in a field! They were in fabulous voice and had everyone up and dancing to great songs. The vocalists have fantastic voices, the music is note perfect and many guests commented how great the band were! Thanks guys - it was a fabulous night!"

"Well, what can we say about Garage Nation... They were amazing! A band really makes an occasion and they definitely made ours. Everyone commented on how good they were and even though it was hot they managed to keep everyone dancing until the very end! Their choice in what to play was spot on and engaged with everyone. A pleasure to work with and dealing with them was so easy and seamless. We have to find another reason to book them again!! Thank you so much for such a great night. "

"Elevation Avenue performed at the Cavendish Beer Festival and we could not have asked for any more. The band were perfect, performing a variety of hit songs guaranteed to fill the dance floor. They arrived on time and set up their set without causing any disruption to the rest of the event. Not only does the band provide an excellent set, they are all extremely friendly and a pleasure to work with. I would 100% recommend Elevation Avenue and look forward to working with them the next time I require a band for an event."
