"Where were you on Wednesday 25th May at 6pm? If the answer is anywhere but at Gratot church, you missed a treat! The people who were in the audience were richly entertained by a trio of talented musicians who freely gave of their time in order to raise funds in support of Ukraine. The programme was widely varied and featured Irene Donnelly (who sang in four languages, no mean feat ) , hitting some incredibly high notes, and violinist/violist Anne Tupling who played with a mellifluous or exciting tone as demanded by the different genres of music.  The concert started appropriately with Ukrainian folk music by Verchovino, featuring all three performers, in which you could sense the stamping of boots and clapping of hands, portrayed by the strong rhythmic beat. This set the high standard for the rest of the evening. We were treated to music by composers ranging from Handel to Gershwin, Puccini to Cole Porter, and also to the haunting Ashokan Farewell (written 40 years ago by the American composer, Jay Ungar), played with great sensitivity by Anne. This was possibly my favourite performance in the musical pot pourri. The evening was a resounding success and raised the wonderful sum of £600 to go to help those who have lost so much. Thank you for organising the event and bravo to the musicians for a memorable evening. You seemed to enjoy performing as much as we enjoyed listening. Encore please!"

" Wigornia string quartet played at our wedding on 25th May and were absolutely fantastic! They added extra class to the ceremony and were friendly and professional. Our guests commented on how much they enjoyed their music. I'd definitely recommend wigornia. "

"The Wigornia String Quartet played at our summer wedding - both in the church and at the marquee reception. Their rendition of Pachelbel's Canon was breath taking and as I walked down the isle it is a moment that will stay with me forever. They are adaptable to any location (our reception was on the top of a mountain!) and played effortlessly for the time we agreed. Highly recommend. "

"A HUGE thank you for being part of our special day at Goodwood House. You guys were absolutely amazing and so many guests complimented me on how brilliant you sounded! I would really recommend you to anyone looking for a sting trio/quartet for any occasion. Although I didn't get to hear you for the whole day, as soon as I started walking up the aisle and heard you play, I knew I made the right choice in booking you. Many thanks again! Excellent job! "

"What a magical time we had! Vicky and the Devon Strings were a treat to listen to and a treat to interact with. We had a wonderful gathering of people to celebrate the retirement of a very dear friend, and many of the people there were knowledgeable about music. The Devon String quartet fulfilled all of our expectations and beyond. What a delight to hear such professional and sensitive playing, performed with such kind hearts and obvious joy. Thank you so much Devon Strings for a splendid evening that was made so very memorable by your presence and delightful music across a broad and beautiful repertoire!"

"Hi Anne, Please pass on my thanks to the rest of the quartet and also the person who was responsible for the amazing arrangements you played. They were very elegantly put together and none of the pop songs sounded forced or out of place despite the drastic change of instrumentation! In fact i'd say some of them soudned better this way. We particularly enjoyed the foo fighters arrangements, and I saw a number of guests singing along and conducting their way through Nessun Dorma. Sarah and I we're running around a lot but whenever we stopped to listen we loved what we heard. We didn't hear a note out of place and the intonation between you all was of the best we've heard from a quartet. It is obvious that you all take a lot of pride in what you do, the years of experience show. I know our guests were also very complimentary about it and we will happily recommend you to anyone who asks. It was worth every penny. Thank you once again, the music was beautiful! "I couldn’t recommend this Ebor Quarter highly enough. They performed at our wedding in November 2025, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. We worked closely with them throughout the planning process, they completely understood our vision and took on board everything we discussed. Their performance was beautiful and added so much to the day."

"We hired this quartet for our wedding, and they were nothing short of phenomenal! Although I didn’t get to hear them play for the full three hours (wedding day chaos!), our guests could not stop talking about how incredible they were. So many people said it felt like walking into a real-life Bridgerton episode — elegant, enchanting, and so beautifully played. One of the most important moments for me was the bridal procession. I had requested a very specific song, and they absolutely nailed it. It was emotional, magical, and just perfect. They were professional, talented, and brought such a special touch to our wedding atmosphere. If you're looking for live musicians to elevate your event, this quartet is the one. Truly one of the best decisions we made!"

"We booked Sounds Interesting around 6 weeks before our wedding as a last minute idea. We had only viewed the video clip on the website and so were a little apprehensive about how it would pan out on the day. However, we need not have worried. The quartet were fantastic. The songs we had chosen were even better than we had imagined. As I (the bride) was a little late to the venue, the quartet ended up playing a couple more songs than planned. They were excellent and really added that extra something to our ceremony, making it personal and unique to us. Worth every penny! "

"Our experience with Conor and the Ebor Quartet team was amazing. We had multiple guests compliment the music and I couldn’t imagine our day without them. Very professional, great communication, timely, and even switched to different areas of the venue for us during the event. So so so happy we found you guys and went with you! "

"We first saw Sarah and Jaya during an open event and they were so talented and had such a lovely energy, they really stuck with us! We booked them for our ceremony and drinks reception and they were so wonderful during the whole process. We had a detailed meeting in advance and communication was excellent from start to finish. On the day they sounded amazing and made the whole day so special, we really appreciated all the extra work they put into planning their spot at the venue given they hadn't played there before. Our guests enjoyed picking out the songs they recognised during their set! They were a joy to work with and would highly recommend them to anyone."

"We hired Ebor Quartet for our wedding and they were amazing! Everyone was so friendly and the they sounded perfect. We chose a Bridgerton-style of songs rather than the traditional music and it was a big hit with everyone. Added that little bit extra to the day and went down so well with everyone. Thank you so much!"
