"The Blaggers played at our wedding recently in Lichfield, they had travelled up from London especially. We were really impressed with their set and talent. I would highly recommend for an occasion. All our guests commented on how fantastic they sounded. So happy we booked them."

"Totally Blown Away……. We had arranged a small celebration in a local village hall for our friends and family and the venue itself was tiny. We looked around to try and find a band to entertain our guests, the majority of which were at the older end of the spectrum. We spent weeks and weeks searching without success and almost changed our plans but eventually came across Kelly & Graham. Having looked at their videos we were amazed how versatile they were but given the fact they were based over 200 miles away we were resigned to the fact they probably wouldn’t travel so far for a one off event. We needn’t have worried, Kelly put us at ease straight away and accepted the booking. She is a great communicator and kept us totally up to speed throughout the process. We were pretty stressed out with co-ordinating the whole event but she promised that we did not have to worry about the music and she was right. They arrived early and set up their equipment and mingled with our guests. We had selected the music to perform from their vast songbook and also added a couple of songs that meant a lot to us. They were brilliant. The night went with a bang. Everyone who came that evening has spoken to us to say how good they were. Kelly’s voice is amazing and Grahams guitar playing is fantastic. If you need a band to entertain your guests no matter how big or small the party, then you need to book these two, you will not be disappointed "

"Thank you so much for making our wedding the party of the year – everyone loved the music! Black Velvet Band Irish Trio played at our wedding reception and they were brilliant. I had worried whether people would want to dance to Irish music but I shouldn’t have. Everyone loved the music! We had a real proper Irish Hooley, with lots of dancing, singing-along and some humour in-between. As this was a marriage of cultures (English, Irish and Dutch) we were also touched that the band played a couple of traditional Dutch songs, allowing the Dutch to have a good sing-along as well. And when my dad asked if they could accompany him for a song to sing after his speech, it was no problem. The guys in the band are proper musicians who can play what the crowd needs to keep the party fuelled. The only complaint I have had is from my knees – which are still complaining, even after 4 days rest! Next time, I will wear trainers."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / Claire’s 60th Birthday / May 2025 Black Velvet Trio were absolutely perfect for the barn dance we hosted. The trio were cool, calm and professional in their ability to literally herd cats! They were able to bring a huge smile to every face which was always my wish. The musicians were brilliant at just playing wonderful barn dance music whilst we laughed and bumped and crashed about with our two and sometimes three left feet. Our last (came too quick) dance was the Swiss Roll. We all loved it and would be so happy to have Black Velvet Trio back to do it all again."

"Absolute band played at our civil partnership party and really brought a lively atmosphere! We all enjoyed the mix of traditional Irish tunes and classic hits, and they played songs to get people up and dancing. Particularly special was they learned specific songs for me to sing with them (as a surprise for my partner), and helped me with the singing which was much appreciated. "We both wanted to extend our thanks for the wonderful music the BVB accordion and fiddle duo performed for us on our wedding day. We both had an amazing time and really felt that Mike and Jase added to the day immeasurably. Stef in particular enjoyed the special attention that was given to her by the duo - the guys played an instrumental version of her favourite song - and we both loved seeing family members singing along to Dutch classics. The interaction with the duo themselves was excellent and certainly helped us feel relaxed in both the run up to and on the day itself."

"Great choice of material. Mat Walklate’s harmonica playing is astoundingly proficient throughout and Matt Fahey’s vocal take on My Bonny Boy Is Young is a stand out track. It gets my vote for album of the year."
