"Black Velvet Band helped make the Souldern Village Ceilidh a great success. Ours was a Village event with all ages and the Band got all ages dancing. They played superbly and brought a caller with a good sense of fun. They provided music to dance to, music to listen to and an entertainment show all in one! On a practical level they were professionally early arriving, leaving the event organiser relaxed and free to have a drink! Greatly appreciated in all regards. Ian Grey"

"We just wanted to make sure to tell you how much we enjoyed Mark's performance on the night and his approach to ourselves and also our family and friends. Mark was extremely welcoming, calming and easy to speak with. He seamlessly slotted into his pre, mid and post sessions and then continued to play great tracks for absolutely as long as he could. That our family and friends were still calling for more was an honest response to their enjoyment,we know because his playing kept us both on the floor dancing perhaps more than mingling as we should! We wish him all the best in the future and we are sure many more couples and parties will be the better for his contribution too."

"Ruby Sings arrived with razzmatazz for our VE celebrations on our village green. With a head turning outfit fit to entertain, Ruby delivered song after song. Everyone sang along, and her enthusiasm wowed us all. We all loved Ruby, so much so, we are to see her again very soon, by popular demand in our village pub. Ruby Rocks 💖🥂💖 "

"We booked "It Takes 2" back in January 2022 for Cleeve Prior village Queens Platinum Jubilee 50's evening. From beginning to end, Kelly and Graham were absolutely fantastic. I bombarded them with emails about set lists, how much power they would require etc etc and each and every time Kelly responded immediately with the answers. Being an organiser of the event and never using the band before, it was quite a responsibility in choosing our entertainment, I needn't have worried. They arrived early, were so professional and had everybody on the dancefloor from beginning to end. The 50's theme / set list, which I was worried wouldn't go down well, was absolutely fantastic. I have been congratulated on booking such a good band but it was all Kelly and Graham's doing, we look forward seeing them at future events and many people in the village are planning on using them, I honestly cannot thank them enough....!"

"Many thanks to Kelly & Graham of ‘It takes 2’ It was an absolute pleasure to meet Kelly & Graham of It Takes 2 last night Afan Tavern Cwmavon With years of experience this duo kept the night alive with a mixture of upbeat songs ranging from 50,s to current top hits of rock, pop & country music, all of which kept the crowd dancing who thoroughly enjoyed! Kelly’s vocals & personality lit up the room along with Graham’s vast musical experience which he made playing the electric guitar look so easy! This is such a friendly talented duo who is accomodating to requests and you can rely on for a good time! Good luck in 2024 Kelly & Graham! We look forward to seeing you again soon! You played some of the family favourites just beautifully and absolutely filled the dance floor for our (ahem – unofficial) ceilidh. We had so much fun dancing the night away. I understand one of the 3 year old cousins asked you to play one of the tunes again – I suspect that is a moment that will go down in family history. "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Angela’a Son’s Wedding – August 2025 Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio were brilliant at our son’s wedding. They arrived promptly, set up without any fuss, played two brilliant sets , were very generous with their time and got everyone dancing. Mike called the dances clearly and gave people chance to have a quick practice. Mike encouraged everyone and the dance floor never emptied. The band really helped make the wedding very special."

"Mark played at my 50th party in October,what a fantastic night he made it.From start to finish everyone was up dancing,we truly did not want him to stop.Mark gives 100 percent and it shines through that he loves what he does,i am so delighted I chose Mark to sing and WOW fantastic on the guitar, and a really fantastic guy, we all loved him,Mark went down a storm with my friends and family, his playlist is fab. I had a 50th I shall never forget."
