Review Centre: Classical Ensembles

"I was struggling to find a string quartet for our wedding in Oxfordshire that were in budget and played the style of music that we wanted. I was relieved when Liz from the 440 Quartet got back to me to say they were available and were happy to travel from Birmingham to Oxfordshire to play at our wedding. Liz went above and beyond to help us get our playlist just right learning new songs that they didn’t have in their repertoire. They played every song to perfection on the day and everyone really enjoyed listening to them throughout the ceremony and drinks reception. The mix of songs they played around our playlist worked perfectly. Thank you Liz for being so helpful and accommodating, we really appreciate it as it took so much stress out of the process for us. I cannot recommend The 440 String Quartet highly enough for any wedding or event. "

"We were absolutely delighted with Astri Strings (Victoria & Jude), who played at our wedding. From the very start, communication with them was so easy and stress-free — they were professional, warm, and accommodating to every request. Their repertoire is incredible, covering everything from classical and jazz through to modern-day hits. One particularly special touch was when they learnt and performed the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to, even though it wasn’t on their list. That meant the world to me, and it was played so beautifully. They performed seamlessly as our guests arrived, throughout the ceremony, and into the drinks reception, creating a lovely atmosphere from start to finish. So many of our family and friends commented on how stunning the music was, and we couldn’t agree more! We would 100% recommend Astri Strings to anyone planning a wedding or any other celebration. "My (now) wife and I booked the King’s Quartet to play at our wedding ceremony and reception in November 2017, and they were undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day. Despite contracting them at a relatively late stage (around three weeks before the event), they were very open to our requests, and the quality of their playing was excellent. As our wedding was quite small, their music really added to the ambience without overwhelming guests' conversations. We were also impressed with their professional service. They were smartly dressed, arrived exactly on time and managed the transition between the three rooms they had to play in without any problems."

"Golden Gospel came and sang on our front step and brought some real Christmas cheer to Rye Lane - it brought people as together as they could be during Tier 4, and really made it feel like Christmas. We'd definitely recommend them and hoping we can do the same next year!"
