"Jack was genuinely incredible. Phenomenal repertoire of Country & Western tunes through the generations, and a great ability to add a twang onto more mainstream classics later on into the night. All of my friends remarked how awesome he was and he was a genuinely lovely bloke as well. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough."

"The band were great musicians and managed to organise lots of teenagers as well as us oldies during a joint 18th/50th party. Everyone danced and really enjoyed themselves - I would highly recommend them!"

"I booked The Haystacks Band for my 50th Birthday Party as I wanted live music that would get everyone dancing! Rachel and her band did not disappoint and we had an amazing evening; I cannot recommend them highly enough! They helped create a great atmosphere and were genuinely lovely people to have at the party. I had taken a bit of a risk in booking the band without seeing them perform but I needn't have worried! From the first contact I had with Rachel, through to evening itself, I had every confidence that they were going to be as good as I'd hoped. The Haystacks Band play fun, upbeat music with passion and an unassuming enthusiasm. Everyone at my party has been telling me how much they enjoyed the band and they definitely made it a 50th to remember. Lovely people and fab musicians who were a fabulous find online!"

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Hugo and Sophie’s Wedding – February 2026 Thank you so much for performing at Croydon Hall for our very special Valentine’s Day Wedding. As soon as the guests heard the band start playing the dance floor was full with very keen participants. All the guests had a fantastic time – the Father of the Groom said it was the perfect wedding entertainment. ! We will definitely be inviting you back!"

"Many thanks to Johnny, Mike and Jase for a fine dose of the "craic" for St Pats! What a grand performance - everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Great singing combined with jigs and reels to get everyone dancing. We can't wait to have you back again! "

"What a great night, was an amazing finish to a surprise party. Was a last minute decision and Big Skies were happy to reassure and be flexible. Somehow we managed to sneak the setup in and surprise the wife, it certainly made the party. The music was great, and they just dealt with it all for me, wouldn't hesitate to rebook. They even stayed for a burger, beer and a go on the rodeo :) Thank you and good luck "

"By far the best band we have booked! We had an amazing night and everyone was on the dance floor! What a voice too! Fabulous. Everyone commented on how great you sounded, very professional and a fabulous country set for all ages to enjoy! Highly recommended folks!"

They were absolutely perfect for our summer party event, not only can they sing and play but they are friendly and accommodating and their sets are so perfect for the environment. "Black Velvet Band Irish Trio came to play at our relaxed outdoor pre-wedding get together of about 40 people. The three who made up the band were great – very talented musicians – they played all our favourites as well as some wider material. They were very keen to fit in with what we wanted to hear and gauged the mood as to whether to sing ballads or play jigs (after a few drinks people were up for having a bit of a dance). It was such a joy to hear live music again after all these months of covid restrictions. The Band really made the evening and they were really lovely people."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Amanda’s 60th Birthday Ceilidh – December 2025 Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio played at a ceilidh to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was actually the fourth time they have played at events for my family over the last ten years, and I’m hoping to have them again in future. It was a wonderful afternoon. The band’s music was cheery and infectious and soon got people dancing enthusiastically, including guests aged from five to 85 and those who had previously warned me that they wouldn’t be able to dance because of knee problems! Phil is a fantastic dance caller who makes ceilidh dancing easy and a pleasure even for those who have never done it before. We all really appreciated his clear instructions about each dance. This, together with Black Velvet’s expert musicianship made the ceilidh very enjoyable and huge fun. I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks so much."

"Well what can we say! Blu Band were absolutely fantastic arrived on time with equipment set up ready for the evening. They sang lots of different songs from old to new keeping the ears of our guests entertained ready for more. was absolutely amazing such a talented band would love to have them at another event. The only down side was that the evening seemed to go to fast but as the saying goes time flys when your having fun. Would so love to see them again in the future absolutely fantastic performance what an amazing band."
