Review Centre: Classical Ensembles

"I was struggling to find a string quartet for our wedding in Oxfordshire that were in budget and played the style of music that we wanted. I was relieved when Liz from the 440 Quartet got back to me to say they were available and were happy to travel from Birmingham to Oxfordshire to play at our wedding. Liz went above and beyond to help us get our playlist just right learning new songs that they didn’t have in their repertoire. They played every song to perfection on the day and everyone really enjoyed listening to them throughout the ceremony and drinks reception. The mix of songs they played around our playlist worked perfectly. Thank you Liz for being so helpful and accommodating, we really appreciate it as it took so much stress out of the process for us. I cannot recommend The 440 String Quartet highly enough for any wedding or event. "

"I was at a wonderful party at the Queens House Greenwich which VS played at in early March this year ( 2012.). Their sound is wonderful and ensemble really crisp and full of Brio. The cello in particular had a rich Tortelier like timbre . They also look as if they are really having fun which avoids the whole show looking too serious. Their Bizet was also full of zippy energy."

"We just wanted to very belatedly get in touch to say a huge thank you to you and Dorchester Strings for your beautiful performances for our wedding on 7 May. We had so many compliments on the day and since, including about at what a difference it made to the atmosphere. Everyone loved the ceremony music (even if it made so many of us cry!) and the impact on the drinks reception was just wonderful. We hope you could hear everyone up top clapping as you finished! The music choices got referenced by the best man during the speech later and you got a cheer in absentia. Our sincere thanks for such a beautiful, skilled addition to our celebration."

"Dear Adam, Ben and all the guys at Deep Down Brass, I just want to say what an absolute pleasure it was to have you playing at Lower Damgate Farm last week. You were more than excellent and we loved your take on all the songs you played, from traditional to modern the brass sound made us all want to dance and carry on dancing. You are all very talented and such a lovely bunch of people. You made everything easy, were very considerate to our needs and you were amazing. "I was looking on last minute musicians to book a string quartet for my wedding. They got in touch quickly and Kirsten was extremely helpful in sorting everything out. They have pages of songs, from classical to movie themes, choosing from the list was the hard part, because I loved so many songs. But they were constantly in touch making sure I chose the right songs. At the wedding they made my day extra special. All the guests were floored with their music. They were enthusiastic and really looked like they were having a great time! I can’t thank them enough and wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book them. "
