Review Centre: String Quartets

"Sorry for the delay in emailing you but I seem to have lost 6 days this week. The wedding and subsequent days were a complete blur. My husband and I would like to thank you and the artists who played at our wedding on Sat 20th October 2018. I did not get a chance to meet and greet and introduce myself to them as I was banished to my hotel room as Mark was practising standing up in the wedding room so I couldn't come down and then we didn't get a chance again. I'm sure you experience this all the time but I felt a bit rude. We only got to hear "Sweet Child O Mine" as we insisted on sitting down to listen but even then we were ushered away as people wanted us announced so they could eat their meal...how very rude we were trying to listen to you guys :-). Everyone said they enjoyed the music and how lovely to have live music. Not what they expected us to choose at all. We had such a fab day that went far too quickly. We have decided go have a first anniversary party next October and would really like Bowfiddle to play again and this time we might get to hear you. "Abbie was fantastic at my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebrations, she had the audience mesmerised and dancing away, from 2-year-olds to 85-year-olds! Can’t imagine any future functions without Abbie!"

"We booked the string quartet for our wedding and they were absolutely brilliant. They were reliable, professional and approachable throughout the booking process and were perfect for the wedding day. They covered a list of songs we asked for and even moved outside of the church so that we could hear them during the photos. It made a special day even more special - thank you. 10/10 and highly recommend to everyone!"

"We would highly recommend Trio - we first met them at the wedding fair at the NEC & we couldn’t stop thinking of their beautiful sound and booked for our wedding almost a year later. They did not disappoint - in particular playing a song they didn’t have in their repertoire. Additionally playing a little rendition of “baby shark” for our little boy who was (to say the least) a little upset and poorly. Thank-you so much."

"Shimmer Strings were soooo good! We used them for our songs during the ceremony and then they played for a few hours during cocktails. They play a mix of classical and modern music which everyone loved. They brought such an incredible atmosphere to the day. I truly & highly recommend!!"

"Dear all A quick note to say thank you so much for coming across to Ludlow for our concert yesterday . It was brilliant to hear Kubla Khan with added instrumental colour of the string quartet with percussion and I felt that we gave an exciting performance of this. The choir really appreciated the instrumental support in the other pieces too. We very much enjoyed the Dunachie quartet movements - many thanks to Anne, Jane, Helen and Hilary for putting those together. It was a pleasure to work with you all. All the best with the rest of your summer concerts and I hope you can enjoy a summer break at some point too! Sally"

"The Stretto Ensembles were a wonderful addition to our wedding day. Super professional, and a pleasure to work with. They provided a great set list that we were able to pick from - just the right size: big enough to feel comprehensive, but without being too expansive that a classical novice like me would get lost with what to pick. For anything not on the list, they were able to acquire sheets for some music that we wanted. They were even able to put together a particular arrangement of a favourite piece of mine from a youtube video. Super happy - I'd love to book them again for the anniversary in a few years' time!"
