"These guys were brilliant!!! The band were joined last minute by a stand in lead singer and you would never have guessed. They were completely brilliant performers and had the marquee rocking all night. Technically brilliant but more than that - in tune with our guests and reading the room! They were also patient, kind, polite and super friendly- thanks so much guys it was an absolute joy to have you at our wedding!!! Everybody loved it!!"

"The Haystacks Band performed at our wedding party at The Pinkneys Arms in Pinkneys Green, and exceeded all expectations. Helpful, communicative, professional, talented, and above all fun! They have a great set list with a fantastic mix of classic and modern songs, but were also willing to adapt to our wishes - with a high proportion of cat lovers in the audience, their version of Smelly Cat (by Phoebe from Friends) went down especially well. They got everyone dancing, including me... and it's notoriously difficult to get me to dance! Brilliant feedback from all our friends too. Thanks so much Rachel & Haystacks Band for helping to make our party so enjoyable."

"We hired It's No' Reel for our English/Scottish wedding and they had guests of all ages up on the dance floor immediately. We were inundated with well-deserved compliments on our choice of band all night and our wedding was fantastically fun and family friendly thanks to them. The guys are all unbelievably talented musicians and it is testament to their skill that a group of three individuals could keep 100 adults and 20 children entertained for a whole evening. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any event - they made our day! There were a couple of things on the day that completely outshone our expectations and these guys were one of them. What a fun night of dancing!"

"Jack was really fantastic at our event. He was very easy to deal with before, giving me a call a few days before to finalise details. He turned up on time, was very little effort to look after, and played some excellent music throughout, just the right vibe for a relaxed afternoon party. I should have pressed him to take more of a break, because I think he just kept on playing, beyond the timings we booked him for. Overall, he was really excellent & made a huge difference to our event, with lots of the guests commenting on how much they liked him."

"We absolutely loved having Black Velvet Band play our wedding ceilidh at Clearwell Castle. My husband is from Scotland so we wanted a traditional Scottish ceilidh feel with some of the classics, and we were not disappointed! We had a good feeling about Black Velvet band from the moment we booked them - and sure enough, Mike and the guys were absolutely fantastic and made our evening party a huge success. The band were great and the instructions on the ceilidh dances were so helpful; even those of our party who may not have normally danced were up there loving life on the dancefloor. The fun and friendly atmosphere they created was just fab and so different from your ‘usual’ evening do. All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the ceilidh and some said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We would 100% book the band again and recommend them to friends. "I hired Jack for my partners 50th birthday in a country pub local to us. I contacted Jack and he kept great communication through out. He also learned some songs which we wanted to be played on the night, which was great. Jack was brilliant on the night. He is very talented and created a great atmosphere. All of our friends and family were so impressed. We also all had a sing along with him at the end of the night which was amazing. Jack was perfect and really made the night. He went above and beyond what we expected. I would definitely hire him again. "

"Interaction with JJ was excellent throughout the process of booking, music selection ( an extensive range of music to suit all tastes and ages) and couldn’t do enough to please. I would highly recommend JJ. He made our evening more successful than we could have dreamt of ! "

"Can't speak highly enough about Adam and Dhugal, a fantastic pair of lads who really made our engagement party/barbecue something to remember. They crammed their instruments into our little marquee we had set up due to the heavens opening, and whilst not ideal, it was not a issue for them. The music was great, the song selection was excellent (even with our slightly fussy tastes of nothing "too old"). We requested a song prior to the day that they had not heard, let alone knew how to play, and it was not a problem at all! They even played a few extra songs at the end because the guests really didn't want it to finish and there was definitely a few sore legs and feet the next day as well as a few sore heads. At a highly competitive price for such an experience, we wouldn't hesitate to book them again. "

"Shaun & Carrie- performed to our members and guests , to end our golf funday . they were upbeat and got everyone involved straight away, they were able to use there repertoire to accommodate all tastes that were attending. they were very professional and definitely will book again . thank you Shaun & Carrie"

"We booked Rachel Redman as a trio alongside Matt and Gaby for my 40th birthday party at The Unicorn in Henley. They had a bit of everything, including three vocals, harmonies, percussion and guitar, lights, full sound system and they played party hits through their system in their breaks. We enjoyed dancing to some rock and pop hits throughout the evening. Rachel, Matt and Gaby were on time and friendly. They made my birthday so memorable, everyone thought they were just amazing! They really added something very special to the night and I have had loads of lovely comments from my friends and family about how amazing they were today. Thank you Rachel, Matt and Gaby."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – James and May-Kate’s Wedding Ceilidh – April 2026 We enjoyed having Black Velvet at our wedding party to play two sets of Ceilidh dancing. The guests thoroughly enjoyed dancing to the music after being taught the dances. Even our four year niece joined in with some of the dancing! "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Janet’s 69th Birthday Ceilidh – June 2025 Oh what a night it was! Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio was the perfect choice for a celebration. They chose dances that matched the skill and enthusiasm of my guests. Setting the right pace is good when lots of guests belong to a running club! Guests from Hong Kong, Greece, Vietnam China and USA had no idea what they were coming to … The band arrived on time, setting up easily and Phil’s friendly manner of instruction was just right. My 6 year old niece (who is VERY shy) shocked her mother by joining the dancing! Lovely comments from guests: “I haven’t danced like that in years” and ” The most fun and dis-organised chaos I’ve had in ages!"
