"Funk it Up! played two amazing sets at our International Women’s Day Dance in Whitstable in March 2024. They were fantastic from beginning to end! Communication was great before the gig and they were friendly, accessible and professional throughout. They played a wide range of fabulous music which was spot on and had all our guests dancing and singing along. All the band are great musicians but what a coup to have such a fantastic, confident woman at the top of her game on lead vocals, epitomising the theme of this event. We’ve had such positive comments since the gig and I can’t recommend this band highly enough."

From start to finish, the band's performance was absolutely incredible — full of energy, talent, and great vibes. You guys had us up and dancing, and the atmosphere was unforgettable. Not only are you all amazing musicians, but the band's stage presence and connection with the crowd was outstanding. You guys knew exactly how to keep the party going and tailor the set to suit the mood perfectly. "Finding a great band for a wedding is surprisingly excruciating and risky. We were planning our wedding during the pandemic, so we had to rely on online videos when searching for bands. We discovered very many high-priced function bands that look pretty, have excellent promotional videos and websites, but have absolutely no soul or no groove. We also had a few lucky escapes: such as certain bands failing to tell us that the very talented lead singer in their promotional video wouldn't be performing with the band, and a few of the bands we saw in pubs and bars demonstrating no idea how to set their PA system to enjoyable levels. Oh and did I mention some bands were requesting RIDICULOUS prices! However, for us it was so important to find a good band, as my new wife and I and many of our friends are dancers, and we wanted lots of people to dance at our wedding. I wrote a specific brief and had high standards, which meant I spent AAAAGGGGES searching and was mostly disappointed. But then somehow, I finally stumbled across Disco Infernos's videos. Oh - My - GOD! Prayers were answered and we hadn't even got to the church yet. They offered a few bands of different styles, sizes and repertoires - and for us Disco Infernos was the closest to what we wanted. Disco Infernos are also super adaptable, as whilst some of the performers we liked weren't available, we were offered a variety of other performers and could choose who we thought would work best for our occasion, and even the kind of outfits they could wear (although we weren't really fussy about that. What we wanted was a great band.) The standard of everyone we reviewed was very high, and when we wanted performers that could perform funk, soul, disco, jazz, R&B and pop within one performance we got them. I don't like the saxophone, so I asked for a trombone player instead. Done. We reviewed a variety of lead singers, and we chose Najwa, and we're so pleased we did. She gave a superstar performance with a personable, upbeat and still professional attitude, incorporating so many of our specific requests that we knew our guests would enjoy, and encouraging our guests to interact with her whilst she was on stage. Due to a delay caused in to the start of the meal, the band even accommodated a shorter mid-set break to keep the dancing and energy going through-out the reception. Not only did that ensure we continued having an excellent wedding party, it truly gave us value for money for our booking. Guests loved the band. We loved the band. And the band seemed to love our wedding. All very important. We are very grateful to Rhona, Disco Infernos and when we have another occasion where we'd like a great function band, we'll first approach Disco Infernos. "

"Thanks Eccentric Pony for providing fantastic entertainment at my 40th B’day bash. I took a punt on these guys after a mates recommendation & was glad I did. Three great natured lads who can play pretty much anything you ask for. Guitarist / singer knows his way around his instrument that’s for sure. Bass player threw in some cool harmonies & the excellent drummer was spot on. They helped make the evening memorable & kept the party moving. Those not into dancing were happy just to watch the group perform. Top entertainers! Everyone enjoyed them! Thanks again guys. "

You pitched the tone, tempo and song choices perfectly throughout and gave our guests (and us) such a perfect soundtrack to the night. I especially appreciate the effort you put into the songs the we requested (our first dance combo and Sunshine On Leith were a huge success!) and that you graciously let the girls take the spotlight for the wedding song performance. In addition, you were brilliant to adapt around the weather situation. I know that wasn’t easy. We loved having you and hope you enjoyed your night too! "Wow! The Groove Ambassadors are just exceptional in every way (including vocals, instrumentals and professionalism). The band played at our wedding recently and they went above and beyond to ensure the dance floor was constantly full, and fun, and that the guests were fully engaged. We had the three piece plan an acoustic set during cocktails/canapes and the eight piece during the evening reception. In both settings they really brought such presence and energy, setting the correct tone in each environment. I can honestly say that choosing The London Soul Band to play at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made and I take it as a great compliment that we already have guests enquiring about the band's details to play at their own events! Extremely grateful for everything the band did, both on the day, in communications leading up to the day and in follow-up conversations afterwards. 10/10 from start to finish - thank you, the best! :D"
