"Black Velvet Band Irish Trio came to play at our relaxed outdoor pre-wedding get together of about 40 people. The three who made up the band were great – very talented musicians – they played all our favourites as well as some wider material. They were very keen to fit in with what we wanted to hear and gauged the mood as to whether to sing ballads or play jigs (after a few drinks people were up for having a bit of a dance). It was such a joy to hear live music again after all these months of covid restrictions. The Band really made the evening and they were really lovely people."

"Debi and the girls were superb. They arrived on time and were very easy and pleasant to deal with. The girls looked the part and were full of fun. Their enthusiasm was infectious. Everyone joined in and had a really good time. The music was excellent. 10 out of 10 for a great performance!"

"Kirsty is absolutely fantastic! As well as being a super easygoing, lovely person, she built a custom setlist based on our music choices, kindly created a special mix for our first dance, and even threw in some vinyl versions of special songs (yes, a vinyl DJ!), which was incredibly special. The lighting setup was also fantastic and exceeded all expectation, and the sound system was high quality and faultless. Kirsty brought so much passion and everyone had an amazing night (some even pleaded for more when it came to an end because they'd enjoyed the set so much...!) Kirsty was generous with her time ahead of the day, super accommodating of special requests, was lovely to work with and has buckets of talent. We can’t fault her or recommend her highly enough! "

Nicky and I and all our guests really enjoyed your sets and especially your cover of Chan Chan - absolutely perfect! "Thank you so much for making our wedding the party of the year – everyone loved the music! Black Velvet Band Irish Trio played at our wedding reception and they were brilliant. I had worried whether people would want to dance to Irish music but I shouldn’t have. Everyone loved the music! We had a real proper Irish Hooley, with lots of dancing, singing-along and some humour in-between. As this was a marriage of cultures (English, Irish and Dutch) we were also touched that the band played a couple of traditional Dutch songs, allowing the Dutch to have a good sing-along as well. And when my dad asked if they could accompany him for a song to sing after his speech, it was no problem. The guys in the band are proper musicians who can play what the crowd needs to keep the party fuelled. The only complaint I have had is from my knees – which are still complaining, even after 4 days rest! Next time, I will wear trainers."

"We recently asked It's No' Reel Ceilidh Band to play at our daughter's wedding. The band arrived on time and set up without any fuss. In fact we were hardly aware of their presence until they started to play. There were a number of English guests and Tom kindly went through the steps of the dances at the start. This was really helpful and encouraged everyone on to the floor. The music was great and played so well. We could not have asked for a better band. A big thanks to all that played for us you made our very special day really great."

"We asked Ceol Beag to come and play for an event in Gateshead where most people hadn't Ceilidh'd before. The band did an amazing job of getting everyone involved - the reviews of the evening were amazing from everyone who came. I would highly recommend asking Ceol Beag to come to your event."

"The band set up according to the plan that had been agreed and once the music got underway, the dance floor was packed for the whole night. Some of our guests had never been to this type of evening before and all we had back was extremely positive comments about the band and of the whole evening, which was to celebrate our daughter’s 30th Birthday. The band was an integral part of the night and made the night go with a swing. Well worth the 5***** GEOFF WARNER"

"Andy and Chris made every effort to make the event a special one, nothing was too much trouble. The performance was outstanding, the brothers’ professionalism and enthusiasm had the whole place bouncing, making the whole event one to remember. Communications with me was excellent, keeping me informed on any progress. Responses to any questions I had were mostly answered within the hour and was never longer than 24 hrs. Overall a very professional, friendly and talented organisation. I would definitely recommend 106 Miles to Chicago for any event, you will not be disappointed. "

"My new husband and I hired Absolute Band a fortnight ago and they were simply amazing - we chose the 5-piece band because we wanted the fiddle for our Irish theme and it was the best decision! The dancefloor wasn't empty once and compliments from our guests came thick and fast about the band! They learnt our first dance really quickly and the whole night was a musical success. Honestly, hiring them was one of the finest choices we made Thank you to all the band members for making our wedding so memorable.
