Review Centre: Wedding Bands

"When we speak to friends about our wedding, the first thing that gets said to us is ''that band were good''. That band were Licksquid. Licksquid had our guests dancing from the very first song of the night. They performed all the songs we requested, and what struck me was how much the band enjoyed it themselves. Licksquid are not a wedding band who just arrive, perform a standard wedding set then leave. These lads will learn songs especially for you, they will join in dance offs with your friends, they will make your wedding complete. The best testimony of Licksquid we can give? In the run up to our wedding, our venue manager said he wasn't familiar with Licksquid, at the end of the night, I saw him asking Licksquid for their business card."

"What a night! We were playing guess the song. Ewan your musical director was lovely and they all seemed to enjoy the evening. I would hire them again in a flash! The entire process was hassle free. The guests were impressed by the duet. "

"Hi Will, Now that we are back from Honeymoon, we really wanted to send you an email, just to say a big thank you to you and the band for being such an enjoyable and big part of our wedding day. We loved the music, it was exactly what we were looking for and have had great feedback from other guests. During the party there was a nice mix of songs to suit all ages that you get at a wedding. The quality of the music was excellent throughout (well except for those drunk idiots destroying Delilah at the end) and most of all it helped to create the good fun atmosphere that we were looking for. A special mention also for the first dance......we have not seen the video of it yet, but I remember thinking in the moment how wonderful it sounded and how good it was to have a quality live band playing for the first dance! A special mention to you for the wonderful Piano on this and of course to the female singer (sorry we did not get her name) who was delightful. We also wanted to mention your solo spot during dinner. Again, a great selection of songs that helped to support the ambience of the occasion and what else can I say, but just top quality. Thanks also for letting us use your mics for the speeches....sorry they overran so much. So in summary, it is just a massive thank you to you and your band, we are delighted that we had you all performing at the wedding......its amazing what you can find on a night out in Bristol!! :) "

"What a fabulous night of fun, laughter and dancing (lots of dancing) F.O.B. Band gave us this weekend for a joint 60th birthday party. The music was superb and Ollie's calling had everyone up and dancing all evening. Highly recommended!"

"The Sessions are brilliant! From the initial booking, to the pre-wedding correspondence regarding our set list preferences, to their friendliness and then finally through to their actual performance at our wedding….they were AMAZING!!! Booking a band based on a couple of studio demos on a website was a daunting experience for us but we needn’t have been worried at all. The Sessions are absolutely fantastic! Totally overwhelmed with how great they were and had a packed dance floor for our entire evening reception. Our guests all commented on how great the band was! Despite being quite a late booking, the band members learnt a song for me, not our first dance but a song my Dad loves….he was truly stoked, as was I! Thanks so much for a brilliant performance. Five very big stars for you!"

"Thank you all so much for performing at our wedding on Saturday. You were all fantastic and so many of our guests have commented on what an amazing band you were. We couldn't have asked for better. I would highly recommend you to anyone wanting to book a band for their wedding who will be enjoyed by all ages. My nephew (the little guy in the gruffalo suit) has decided he wants to take up the guitar and be as cool as your guitarist! :-) Thanks again guys. We'll hopefully see you at another event soon!"

"5 stars! We couldn’t have had a better band than House of Chords for our wedding. Their range and selection of music was perfect, including lots of our favourite songs, and got all ages on to the dance floor. They also arranged their sets to build up to a great finale! All of our guests had a fantastic time. They were a pleasure to work with and were flexible to fit around our plans and changes on the day. Among a wonderful wedding day, they were certainly a highlight."

"The band were really really good, everyone really enjoyed it. They played two fantastic sets, and everyone was dancing. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. What was really nice is that I asked for a particular song and they played it perfectly. It meant a lot to me and my wife. It was great a really fantastic evening. If you get the chance, go and book them up!"

"Motion picture were incredible! So professional, I didn’t even notice them set up, it was so seamless. They even coordinated learning our first dance song with my sister in law as the vocalist for that song and it was magical! They really set the vibe and we got so many compliments on how great they were. I am a professional musical theatre performer, my husband is an actor and my brother works in the music industry so you can imagine there were lots of musicians etc and they were all blown away and the vibe was amazing. Would deffo recommend, they are professional talented and very slick at what they do."
