Review Centre: Irish Bands

"Black Velvet Band provided a five piece ceilidh band and caller for the finale of the Hawkins’ team building event. We thought the room would be too big – but we were wrong! The band brought an absolute gem of a caller, who read the crowd perfectly and the dance floor was full throughout the evening. We could have done with a larger space! The band was superb and the event was enjoyed by all concerned. I thoroughly recommend the band."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 16/07/2021 / Cecilia and Johny’s Wedding Mike and the Black Velvet Band played at our wedding and put together a fantastic set. They had very thoughtfully come up with some more Covid secure dances to cater for people wishing to stay in their respective bubbles but managed to maintain the energy and enthusiasm throughout. The music was brilliant and the calling was the best that I’ve seen at a ceilidh (a difficult skill to perfect!). We did 6 or 7 dances and the band very considerately asked how we (my wife and I) would like to lead the dances to ensure plenty of people engaged but we had no concerns as everyone joined in. All of our guests were delighted and we can’t thank the band for stepping in at relatively short notice, we had a brilliant time."

"Party Sounds thoroughly entertained us at our wedding in September. Mark and the other band members read our audience really well and we don't think the dance floor was ever empty!! Highly recommended and we know that they would have picked up some future customers from our wedding guests. Extremely approachable, punctual and down to earth, if we could have our wedding day again they would be there without a doubt!! "What can I say other than these 2 wonderful performers made my recent cruise . I thought they were the best thing on the ship and hope that Ambassador realise this Kelly can sing absolutely anything and makes every song her own in the most relaxed way she makes it seem easy and I know that for the amount of time she had to sing every night it would be anything but easy . Graham is an amazing musician and plays guitar as well as Hank Marvin Thank you both for making my cruise so enjoyable xxxxxxxx Ps I’m the women who whispered thanks on the last night as I walked past on last night x"

"The three chaps that make up this band were fantastic on the night, I've had nothing but compliments from the many people in attendance. The music they played was perfect, my 80 year old Irish father who's party it was hasn't stopped smiling since Saturday night. They actually learnt a song which is one of his favourites for the night. And it went down very well. I would recommend the lads to my friends and family events in the future for sure. Many thanks. "I knew what I wanted for entertainment at my 50th birthday party but had no idea what to expect when I booked the Rib Ticklers. I'm pleased to say the boys didn't disappoint! They pitched the selection of songs just right and had the dancing in full swing within minutes of starting to play. I had a great night and friends loved the great mix of music all evening. I'm now trying to find an excuse to have them back! Galway girl living in Hertfordshire"
