Review Centre: Wedding Bands

"Where were you on Wednesday 25th May at 6pm? If the answer is anywhere but at Gratot church, you missed a treat! The people who were in the audience were richly entertained by a trio of talented musicians who freely gave of their time in order to raise funds in support of Ukraine. The programme was widely varied and featured Irene Donnelly (who sang in four languages, no mean feat ) , hitting some incredibly high notes, and violinist/violist Anne Tupling who played with a mellifluous or exciting tone as demanded by the different genres of music.  The concert started appropriately with Ukrainian folk music by Verchovino, featuring all three performers, in which you could sense the stamping of boots and clapping of hands, portrayed by the strong rhythmic beat. This set the high standard for the rest of the evening. We were treated to music by composers ranging from Handel to Gershwin, Puccini to Cole Porter, and also to the haunting Ashokan Farewell (written 40 years ago by the American composer, Jay Ungar), played with great sensitivity by Anne. This was possibly my favourite performance in the musical pot pourri. The evening was a resounding success and raised the wonderful sum of £600 to go to help those who have lost so much. Thank you for organising the event and bravo to the musicians for a memorable evening. You seemed to enjoy performing as much as we enjoyed listening. Encore please!"

"My wife and I got married a few weekends ago and were lucky enough to have Flynn and Tonic’s play at our wedding. We were highly recommended them by a family member who saw them and loved them at a wedding the year before. From the moment I spoke with David he was incredibly professional and personable and followed everything up on email. We stayed in regular contact in the build up to the wedding, discussing options, song selections, timings etc and I felt completely assured I was in safe hands. Most importantly on the day itself Flynn and Tonic’s were absolutely amazing, we opted for an acoustic set during our reception drinks and then 3 band sets after our meal. The dance floor was completely full all night for all 3 sets and the music selection was fantastic!! They were so much fun and so great at reading the room and playing to the crowd!! I knew they were great but they completely and utterly superseded our expectations!! We had so many guests complimenting how good the band were and they absolutely made the day amazing. I’m ecstatic we found this band and I’m so grateful we got to have them on our special day. I cannot recommend the Flynn and tonics enough for any event but most importantly a wedding!! "Detroit Deluxe were engaging, energetic and excellently executed every song performed. As a couple, our music taste crosses over in the soul and RnB categories and we felt through Detroit Deluxe, we could have crowd pleasers to involve our family and friends, that we also loved so much! They really delivered! We had so many positive comments about how amazing the lead singers' voices were! To top it off, they created a musical medley for our first dance! Outstanding. "

"Finally getting around to writing our reviews although we got married in May ha ha! Soul revolver were amazing truly the best live band I’ve heard, highly recommend! You couldn’t of asked for nicer lads, easy going and professional at the same time. We got the band to sing our first song and it was sang to perfection. Our guest loved them, and we were asked who the band were several times and had comment after comments how good they were so thank you again!"

"What a wonderfully talented person! I cannot recommend Sarah enough! She played for us at an event in the early evening. Her playlist of cover tracks was perfect - popular songs for all ages that created a really magical atmosphere as the sun set! Sarah has a gorgeous voice, and to top it off she is a really lovely person too!"
