"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Simon’s Wedding – April 2025 Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio performed at our Wedding reception. The music was fantastic and Alan the caller talked our guests through the dances with patience and wit. Our guests included some serious Scottish dancing enthusiasts together with a lot of enthusiastic amateurs, complete beginners and no hopers – all of whom had an absolute blast! We would highly recommend the band and a couple of our guests made enquiries about booking them for upcoming events, which speaks for itself. Thank you for providing us with fantastic memories filled with joy and laughter."

"From our very first emails to the sweaty (from all of us) hugs at the end of our night, Oscar and Barney were nothing short of wonderful. Not only are their musical talents just completely and ridiculously incredible, they were always so kind and encouraging - with nothing too much trouble and keen to take on whatever request we made! Playing as a duo immediately after our wedding ceremony and with their band as we danced into the night, Barney and Oscar have given us the gift of memories to treasure soundtracked by their amazing music. We cannot thank them, or recommend them highly enough. ♥️🍀"

"What a fantastic band. Mark and his group were brilliant - everything we had hoped for. Mark did a solo acoustic set at the beginning, which was the perfect backdrop to people arriving and chatting. Then he and the band played 2 brilliant sets, getting everyone on the dancefloor. Mark was a brilliant communicator - listened to our requests and took them into account for the sets. He was also brilliant at engaging with the party. Top marks - would 100% recommend!"

"Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you - it's been a bit hectic at our end. Thank you for coming out to West Sussex to play on Saturday night. The music was fantastic and pitched at our guests perfectly. I've had a number of comments from people who said that you made it a great evening and it wouldn't have been the same with a different guitarist - I wholeheartedly agree."

"WOW! A blast of energy! You all rocked the house and with only 5 people gave us a full soul-Motown sound that just blew us away. Even had a little drink with us at the end of the evening and Remko made sure the music was playing right till everyone's left. True professionals, recommended!!!"

"A massive thank you to Ruby for organising ‘Entertaining in the Crescent’ last Sunday. Ruby as joined by Tommy Harper, Teresa Reza Farrell and Andy Whitehouse (as Elvis) who entertained locals with renditions of classic songs from down the ages. The event has raised in excess of £350 and we’d just like to say thank you to everyone who came along and contributed, your support will make a real difference to the children who need our support. "

The caller did a fantastic job of putting people at ease an encouraging lots of dancing and everyone had a great time. At our working event the next day, many attributed the positive mood and energy to the ceilidh the night before, so maybe it is the secret to successful strategy seminars?!"

"Saw them at the Claude doing an acoustic set. Absolutely brilliant. I love their own version of Dakota. Never heard it like that before. It was beautiful. Really liked the medleys. Great guitarist and stunning vocals. I look forward to seeing them again."

"IPU Group is a manufacturing company based in West Bromwich with a proud 60-year history. We often put events on for our staff and to celebrate the end of COVID restrictions we put on a ‘festival vibes’ event on Saturday 24th July and asked Ruby to perform along with another artist to entertain our wonderful employees. Ruby turned up nice and early, and had great communication with the other supplier and IPU event staff to ensure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Ruby is a great bubbly personality and her performance certainly matched it. We would hire her again if such an event happens in the future."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Janet’s 69th Birthday Ceilidh – June 2025 Oh what a night it was! Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio was the perfect choice for a celebration. They chose dances that matched the skill and enthusiasm of my guests. Setting the right pace is good when lots of guests belong to a running club! Guests from Hong Kong, Greece, Vietnam China and USA had no idea what they were coming to … The band arrived on time, setting up easily and Phil’s friendly manner of instruction was just right. My 6 year old niece (who is VERY shy) shocked her mother by joining the dancing! Lovely comments from guests: “I haven’t danced like that in years” and ” The most fun and dis-organised chaos I’ve had in ages!"
