"'Swing Gitan UK joined the Nottingham Jazz Orchestra on the bill of the Christmas Jazz Fest last weekend. Having seen Swing Gitan a number of times, I have always been massively impressed with the musical and technical ability of all members of the band. Their music would sound at home on the streets or riverbank walkways of Paris, but we were lucky enough for them to join us for a unique lineup of bands. Within just a few bars of their first number, (insert what you played first here, I can't remember, sorry lol), it is clear to all that Elliott Lewis and Wayne Jefferies, who take the positions as guitarists within the band, are masters of their instruments and faithfully re-create the music of Django Reinhardt, but adding their own style to numbers such as Minor Swing, Blue Bossa, and Undecided. Joined by bassist Rob Coates and James Tolhurst completing the lineup, their enthusiasm is infectious and the music always driving. If you ever get the chance to catch these guys doing a set, you will not be disappointed!' "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / 08/04/2023 / Ceilidh for Eastercon 2023 (Sci Fi enthusiast's convention) We had a fun-filled, joyous ceilidh, thanks to the amazing, talented Black Velvet Band.The band members are great fun. Alan had us laughing so much with his warmth and humour when calling the dances. The booking process was straightforward and professional. When I talked on the phone to Mike in advance, I was assured that these guys knew their stuff. When I requested non-gendered calling, that was no problem. The band are very versatile - they added a little Star Trek and Dr Who music, seamlessly, into the ceilidh tunes, to give us an extra-special thrill! "We had The Tzigauners play as a trio at the drinks reception of our wedding this summer (2017) - and I am so glad I made the decision to have them perform. The music and resulting ambience was exactly what I wanted. Alex, our contact, was excellent in coming back to me with email responses to my questions before the event and came across as very relaxed and happy to go with the flow on the day, which calmed me down a lot. Would thoroughly recommend for any event. "

"The band played for my daughter's 30th which was all organised by her, including the hiring of the band. We had no idea what to expect and were hugely delighted by their ability to quickly gauge the style of the party and were more than accommodating in their repertoire, even playing for members of the party to sing with them. First class professional playing, and played with evident enjoyment in a relaxed upbeat style. A most wonderful evening, thanks largely to this band."
