Review Centre: String Quartets

"My (now) wife and I booked the King’s Quartet to play at our wedding ceremony and reception in November 2017, and they were undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day. Despite contracting them at a relatively late stage (around three weeks before the event), they were very open to our requests, and the quality of their playing was excellent. As our wedding was quite small, their music really added to the ambience without overwhelming guests' conversations. We were also impressed with their professional service. They were smartly dressed, arrived exactly on time and managed the transition between the three rooms they had to play in without any problems."

"We booked Marino Strings as a duo a few weeks before our wedding as we decided we really needed some live music for our drinks reception. We were so pleased that we did! They were extremely responsive and helpful before the event. On the day, they were fantastic - professional, smart and most importantly, so talented. They really added to the atmosphere and we had lots of comments from guests about how much they enjoyed the music. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!"

"The moment when Warwickshire Strings began to play our favourite song before I walked down the aisle was absolutely spine-tingling. So many of our guests commented on what a beautiful touch it was to have a string quartet at the wedding, and I couldn’t recommend this one more highly. They have a wonderfully eclectic repertoire, so there was really something for everyone to enjoy - and Rachel was incredibly helpful in advising us before the big day about what sort of music would be suitable at various points during the event. Their presence throughout the afternoon of our wedding added a truly magical touch to the occasion. "

"Aphrodite Strings played at our wedding in August 2013. They performed in the church whilst guests arrived, as I walked down the aisle, during the signing of the registers and as the wedding party left the church. They also played at our wedding reception afterwards. I can honestly say that having them perform on our 'big day' was a brilliant decision, they are very talented musicians and helped us create the 'tasteful' occasion we had hoped for. From the moment we met Antonia she was extremely helpful, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for her, even though we requested some pieces outside their usual repertoire! We would thoroughly recommend Aphrodite Strings to anyone thinking of having live music at their wedding or other occasion and I can't thank them enough for making our day so special - they really are superb performers and lovely people too. "We first came across the Wigornia at the Wedding Show at the NEC. At the time we never even considered a string quartet but after listening to them play at the show we decided it would be a lovely idea. Despite the very poor acoustics of the NEC hall and associated ambient noise they sounded great. On our wedding day they arrived early to set up and then started playing, wow! what a difference in the quality of sound due to the change in venue. A large number of our guests commented on the fantastic music the quartet played. Walking down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Cannon in D and back to Vivaldi’s Spring was more than a little emotional for not only us but also our guests. I would highly recommend The Wigornia String Quartet to anyone thinking of having a string quartet at their wedding. "
