"Caroline and Luke played at our wedding on Feb 24th in Bury St Edmunds and I cannot recommend Element String enough. They were absolutely fantastic and I feel lucky to have had them playing at our wedding. So many guests commented on the quality and variety of the music they played and how it created a great atmosphere for the event. From the outset we received quick responses from Caroline and a friendly and flexible approach. She was happy to adjust length of time and number of musicians to fit our budget. We had the duo to play as guests were arriving and having welcome drinks , then through the ceremony itself and for most of the drinks reception that followed. We had thought we would be indoors on the day given it was Feb but due to uncharacteristically hot weather , the drinks were taken outside onto the terrace. Caroline and Luke being very flexible moved outside with us which was amazing. The group have a good repertoire to select from so you can have classical for the more formal moments in your day and something more jazzy afterwards to give a party feel. The duo created the perfect level of sound for the size of our ceremony room and number of guests (around 85). If we had a greater budget we would have taken the trio or even quartet without thinking as their previous reviews were so positive. I’m sad that I didn’t get to meet Caroline and Luke properly to say a big thank you. On the wedding day itself everything just seems to happen around you without you having any chance to veer off schedule. I bumped into Caroline by chance as I was being shown into the dining room and she was lovely , very warm and friendly. She and Luke arrived nice and early to set up and what is great is they are fully acoustic. Everything you hear is fully their talent and no electrics/amplifiers and wires required so it is easy to set up in almost any part of the room you require. They created such atmosphere for our ceremony - I could not have been more delighted with them. If you are looking for musicians for your wedding or other event that are extremely talented in their range of music, flexible , easy to deal with , fairly priced and transparent - then look no further than Element Strings. "

"I hired Ebor String Quartet (or trio in my case!) for my wedding and they were everything I could have hoped for and more. From the moment I messaged for a quote, Conor has been fantastic at communicating with me. With every single detail down to my last minute panic about the length of my aisle song on the morning of the wedding, they made me feel confident in them always. As I said to Conor, the one thing I’ve known I’ve always wanted for my wedding day was strings playing me down the aisle. Ebor Strings knocked it out of the park and I couldn’t be happier. A special thank you to the group for the very brief moment I had when the guests were gathering for the confetti shot, and they played Charli xcx Speed Drive for me (a song that I practically squealed at when I saw it in their repertoire). "Ebor Quartet played at our wedding last weekend at The Grand Hotel in York. They played for both our ceremony and cocktail hour and were absolutely stunning from start to finish. So many of our guests commented on their performance & our little 2 year old nephew couldn't get enough of them - applauding each time they finished a song! They really added that magical sparkle one wants at a wedding. Ebor were recommended by our venue and I can see why. From the moment we booked them, Conor was helpful and communicative via email, and easily adapted to any requests we had. We decided fairly late on in the planning process to extend cocktail hour out a little longer to ensure myself and my new husband would be able to enjoy time with our guests and Conor quickly assured me they'd be able to stay for the extended time & enabled us to make an extra payment for the added time. They honoured all requests we had when it came to song choices (eg: My Girl for the aisle walk, and we wanted Vivaldi's Spring to open cocktail hour but were otherwise flexible on the order of our chosen songs) They also provided a bit of guidance where relevant - helpful when one doesn't book these sorts of things on a regular basis! Overall - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ebor - if you're thinking about booking them, go for it ✨️ Our guests are still talking about them! 💙"

"Last month Shrewsbury and Atcham District Arts Association were delighted to host the premiere of Patrick Larley"s work for string quartet, Iona Sound led by Anne Tupling with Sounds Interesting String Quartet. A contemporary work, it was made accessible by fine and precise playing. In addition Sounds Interesting gave a memorable rendition of a medley of Scottish airs composed specially for the occasion.
