"I booked 'It Takes Two' to play at my 60th Birthday party. What a fantastic show. Everything we asked for and more. Kelly and Graham are two exceptional performers and entertained my guests perfectly. The Country and Western themed party was a blast. What a great way to celebrate my day. "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Janet’s 69th Birthday Ceilidh – June 2025 Oh what a night it was! Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio was the perfect choice for a celebration. They chose dances that matched the skill and enthusiasm of my guests. Setting the right pace is good when lots of guests belong to a running club! Guests from Hong Kong, Greece, Vietnam China and USA had no idea what they were coming to … The band arrived on time, setting up easily and Phil’s friendly manner of instruction was just right. My 6 year old niece (who is VERY shy) shocked her mother by joining the dancing! Lovely comments from guests: “I haven’t danced like that in years” and ” The most fun and dis-organised chaos I’ve had in ages!"

"Saw this duo play on Thursday in High Wycombe. Great Irish set for St Patrick's Day. The whole crowd were singing and banging the tables, and there was even some Irish dancing. Excellent guitarist and lovely singing. Danny boy brought a tear to my eye. Let us know when you are up this way next."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Amanda’s 60th Birthday Ceilidh – December 2025 Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio played at a ceilidh to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was actually the fourth time they have played at events for my family over the last ten years, and I’m hoping to have them again in future. It was a wonderful afternoon. The band’s music was cheery and infectious and soon got people dancing enthusiastically, including guests aged from five to 85 and those who had previously warned me that they wouldn’t be able to dance because of knee problems! Phil is a fantastic dance caller who makes ceilidh dancing easy and a pleasure even for those who have never done it before. We all really appreciated his clear instructions about each dance. This, together with Black Velvet’s expert musicianship made the ceilidh very enjoyable and huge fun. I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks so much."

"We communicated with Jamie prior to the event to iron out all the necessary details. This made the day run smoothly & stress free. Jamie’s performance was outstanding. A perfect laid back vibe with great audience participation which only added to the atmosphere. We received a number of compliments over our choice of entertainment. Jamie’s voice is superb, we loved the authenticity in his voice. The set list played was extremely fitting to our wedding day. Do not hesitate to book Jamie. You will not regret it!"

"I hired Nick through last minute musicians as a Duo and they were great! Nic was able to play lots that got everyone dancing and joining in, he took requests and even did an impromptu duet with myself after a request from another guest. They played songs I had requested before the party brilliantly and gave the perfect country western vibe to our hoe down. He was so polite and respectful all evening and a genuinely lovely person. Last minute musicians were great with finding him as I was very particular about what I wanted for the party, they sent lots of options and searched high and low till I was happy with my choice to go with Nick. Thank you all"

"Lilac and Remko rock! Absolutely one of the highlights of our day was seeing a kick-ass 8 piece get the whole room dancing to our Motown-inspired playlist. They helped with curation to ensure we picked the right floor-fillers and chucked in a couple of modern classics and a vocal cameo from one of our guests in, too. We really can't recommend them enough. Everything was smooth and our day was honestly even better because of them ."

"We just wanted to make sure to tell you how much we enjoyed Mark's performance on the night and his approach to ourselves and also our family and friends. Mark was extremely welcoming, calming and easy to speak with. He seamlessly slotted into his pre, mid and post sessions and then continued to play great tracks for absolutely as long as he could. That our family and friends were still calling for more was an honest response to their enjoyment,we know because his playing kept us both on the floor dancing perhaps more than mingling as we should! We wish him all the best in the future and we are sure many more couples and parties will be the better for his contribution too."
