"Funk With Us played at our wedding last weekend and were absolutely amazing!! I would highly recommend them for any wedding or other event. So many of our guests kept asking how we'd found them because they just blew everyone away with their vocals, energy, song choices and just all around fun! So so so good! It felt like Lilac and the rest of the band just brought the good times back! "

"Saw this duo play on Thursday in High Wycombe. Great Irish set for St Patrick's Day. The whole crowd were singing and banging the tables, and there was even some Irish dancing. Excellent guitarist and lovely singing. Danny boy brought a tear to my eye. Let us know when you are up this way next."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Christian and Fiona’s 40th Wedding Anniversary Party – May 2026 Wonderful, great musicians, great caller, managed to get dancing going for a mixed age group which included from quite senior to a few young children. The band were very helpful and flexible and helped towards a memorable evening for everyone. Great music, plenty of dancing, great party!"

"The band set up according to the plan that had been agreed and once the music got underway, the dance floor was packed for the whole night. Some of our guests had never been to this type of evening before and all we had back was extremely positive comments about the band and of the whole evening, which was to celebrate our daughter’s 30th Birthday. The band was an integral part of the night and made the night go with a swing. Well worth the 5***** GEOFF WARNER"

They were so professional and diligent in their preparation before the event and amazingly unobtrusive as they set up and took all their equipment down. Their sets were inspirational and dynamic and got everyone of all ages on the dance floor! Great variety and great rhythm. The different musical skills of all their band members were hugely complimentary and they helped make our evening very memorable. The lead singers were charismatic and magnetic. "Can't speak highly enough about Adam and Dhugal, a fantastic pair of lads who really made our engagement party/barbecue something to remember. They crammed their instruments into our little marquee we had set up due to the heavens opening, and whilst not ideal, it was not a issue for them. The music was great, the song selection was excellent (even with our slightly fussy tastes of nothing "too old"). We requested a song prior to the day that they had not heard, let alone knew how to play, and it was not a problem at all! They even played a few extra songs at the end because the guests really didn't want it to finish and there was definitely a few sore legs and feet the next day as well as a few sore heads. At a highly competitive price for such an experience, we wouldn't hesitate to book them again. "

"Wow what a night, such a good party! It takes Two were just marvellous. There was plenty of contact before the party asking us what we wanted, they arrived in plenty of time to set up and their music just right, a variety of old and new with some guitar solo’s...plus Kelly voice is wonderful. We would highly recommend them, they are very professional, good value for money and really get the party going. Thank you both so much."

"Thank you so much for making our wedding the party of the year – everyone loved the music! Black Velvet Band Irish Trio played at our wedding reception and they were brilliant. I had worried whether people would want to dance to Irish music but I shouldn’t have. Everyone loved the music! We had a real proper Irish Hooley, with lots of dancing, singing-along and some humour in-between. As this was a marriage of cultures (English, Irish and Dutch) we were also touched that the band played a couple of traditional Dutch songs, allowing the Dutch to have a good sing-along as well. And when my dad asked if they could accompany him for a song to sing after his speech, it was no problem. The guys in the band are proper musicians who can play what the crowd needs to keep the party fuelled. The only complaint I have had is from my knees – which are still complaining, even after 4 days rest! Next time, I will wear trainers."
