"Brilliant band for my sons charity night in Northampton. I booked a 5 piece as I wanted a fiddle player, great musicians, Steve top singer, Luke the engineer was really kind and very helpful with a video link of Zac. "The Band was superb in guiding us through the preparation for its gig - our wedding reception no less - not least of all in its patience with our frequent delays in getting back with requested information! We asked for a "Dublin/ Temple Bar" feel to the gig and that is what we got in spades. We have no doubt that the Band would have presented other music styles equally as well. Our 80 plus guests loved the performance, as did the 10 or so staff at the reception venue. The manager of our local folk club booked the Band - taking its details that very same night - for a club performance at date to be arranged. The Band's fee for the evening was very competitive for the performance and the help we were given in its preparation. The Band arrived in good time, set up quickly and demobilised swiftly and tidily. Please feel free to contact us via the booking agent - who was also superb - if you might wish to verify this volunteered reference. "

"From the initial enquiry right the way through to the event, both the service and level of communication was excellent. Definitely highly recommend the service offered by LastMinuteMusicians. But, more importantly, Josh was absolutely amazing, and he soon had everyone singing along, clapping and dancing from the off. And bearing in mind our event was a small family gathering of around 30 people (in our garden) to celebrate our son's wedding, with an age range of 1 - 75 years, that was no mean feat ! Our small grandchildren really enjoyed every song and Josh responded amazingly by playing the songs that kept everyone dancing. It was so lovely to see them enjoying the live music, and we have lovely photos and videos to treasure. Thank you so much, you delivered on all counts"

"It was a pleasure to welcome singer Ruby to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. She treated staff, patients and their families to a musical treat in the main hospital atrium singing a range of classics from the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. Ruby performed for an hour and attracted people from all over the hospital to come and watch. She has great charisma and her interaction with those who watched was lovely and it was good to see the smiles on people's faces who passed by. If you want a fabulous voice and an amazing presence then Ruby is your lady!"

"I just wanted to say such a huge thank you for the amazing performance that you gave. You were so friendly and willing to help in any way that any nervousness about getting up to dance was immediately dismissed. I was extremely apprehensive prior to the night about how the dancing would go down, especially with my two left feet! However my worrying was in vain, what a fantastic night of dancing it was, so inclusive that any and all can get up and get involved, aged 5 or 105. You need no experience or talent, just listen to the brilliant calling, it’s all simple moves but when it comes together with all your friends and family on the night, prepare to be amazed. I can not thank the band enough for making our Wedding such a fantastic night, I have never seen so many people thoroughly enjoying themselves all at once. I can sincerely recommend the Black Velvet Band for any social occasion, your expectations will be exceeded."

"Mike and his band played for Martin’s 60th birthday barn dance. They made it a very special night full of lovely memories. Alan was a fab caller. Navigated us through the dances with humour and laughter. Alan was extremely helpful and empathetic towards one of our guests who is blind and called dances that she could join in without making it obvious to lots of guests. Many didn’t even realise she was not sighted. We had many comments from our guests who complimented the band on the accordion player (sorry I forgot your name) Mike the fiddle player and Alan our caller. A great trio and we really recommend them! Thank you guys! "

"Massive shout out to these guys.....they were fab! Played at my wedding last month after it being postponed previously due to Covid & during the last 2 years they have been a pleasure to liase with, so likeable & down to earth, with great sense of humours!!!! Very talented group of lads with amazing vocals from Steve the lead singer AKA Bocelli!!!!!! Who sang our first dance song which was Perfect!!! :) Couldn't recommend them higher enough......so much so I might have to start planning another wedding so I can have them play again!! "We both wanted to extend our thanks for the wonderful music the BVB accordion and fiddle duo performed for us on our wedding day. We both had an amazing time and really felt that Mike and Jase added to the day immeasurably. Stef in particular enjoyed the special attention that was given to her by the duo - the guys played an instrumental version of her favourite song - and we both loved seeing family members singing along to Dutch classics. The interaction with the duo themselves was excellent and certainly helped us feel relaxed in both the run up to and on the day itself."
