"This awesome pair played at our wedding. A gorgeous atmosphere during / around the ceremony, through the wedding breakfast and on the dance floor. Kelly has a gorgeous voice which grabbed us immediately when choosing who we’d like to perform at our wedding (she did not disappoint!) Graham, a real master on the guitar as we worked him hard for our first dance! They Definitely brought extra magic to our special day. Thaannk YOOOOOOOUUUU xxx"

"We hired the Captain's Beard last year and they got the whole boatload of us up and on our feet jigging our hearts out. You'll be surprised how many nautical ballads you know the words to once they get into full swing. Why are the Captain's Beard so great? Because they arrrRRRRRR! "

"The ceilidh went amazingly well! The dance floor was full all evening. I put it down to Eddy and Mike, who played tunes with such an exciting beat that you just couldn’t stay still. The caller was huge fun. I highly recommend the band."

"We are so grateful to Black Velvet Ceilidh Trio for making our fundraising ceilidh a great success with delightful music and dancing. The level of challenge of the dances was pitched just right to tempt our guests (who were aged from 4 to 84) to have a go – and they all came away with big smiles on their faces! Phil – the band’s friendly caller – gave just the right amount of instruction and then a quick recap before each dance and was happy to adapt dances to suit some of the children. Arrangements and payment were all handled professionally and efficiently. Thank you so much for helping us raise over £300 for our cause!"

"Arrived on time and had set up as instructed. Dress code was very good and very appropriate for my father's funeral. The capability of the duo was excellent, and was played with feeling, all round was excellent, couldn't fault them."

"Hi Dermot Just to thank you for your and the band's entertainment gig at our daughters's recent wedding. It was obvious that each band member was a professional both in proficency of instrument and presentation of the music. I was also impressed with the mix of old classical Irish (re O'Carolan) and the more recent lively musical pieces. Indeed, the songs also exhibited this diversity with noted classics and singalong standards. It was assuring when the band arrived with ample time for set-up and ready to play on cue. Thanks again. "We booked the BVB for our wedding in April at Stonehouse Court. We specified Celtic music and they were excellent – they even learned a song for me to sing with them in two weeks flat! True musicians who really know their stuff. They were punctual and did not skimp on time – not taking lengthy breaks between songs which I know some do. A really great experience – I thoroughly recommend them."
