"Thank you, guys, for finding time beforehand to rehearse with Amy, the bridegroom’s sister, who sang Elton John’s “Your Song” for the bride and groom’s 1st dance. It was beautiful and very special to have her sing their first song with accompaniment from the band. I think everyone was very moved by it (we are hoping someone filmed it but are not sure!). The dance floor was packed all evening for the ceilidh and we all had great fun - which was the intention. It was an amazing day, evening and whole weekend - we carried on the celebrations on Sunday! Thank you to Black Velvet Band for helping to make the wedding so memorable. "

"Lucy and Jack were amazing at our wedding. Everything we could have hoped for. They were great at learning my song requests for the whole day. Very reasonably priced for the incredible service they provide. Intimate and happy atmosphere created by their beautiful voices and musical talents! Completely perfected the musical genres we wanted of modern country and pop, with couple of older songs too. For any brides out there I highly recommend Lucy and Jack, and to have live singer whilst walking down the aisle, it was one of the most memorable parts of my day."

"It is a pleasure to hear a klezmer band that knows their repertoire on both genre and geography and this band have put in the time to learn more than just the material. They know the form and function of the pieces, the geography of the origin and style of the repertoire and this is reflected in both their playing and their commentary."

"We've so enjoyed having Blackbeard's Tea Party along at our events that they're now our "go to" band every time we have a ceilidh. They bring energy, musical talent and a sense of fun every time they play. Our ceilidh events are always a success, and that's mainly down to this great group of musicians. If you want a lively "proper" ceilidh band, then look no further than Blackbeard's Tea Party."

One particular fan is obsessed with the way you mixed some Muse in with some ceilidh expertly..! "We were fortunate enough to have The Northern Reel Collective play for us and our guests at our wedding on Skye. They were superb - lively, helpful and of course talented and fun. I can think of no finer way to have ended our big day - I can't recommend them highly enough."

Everyone really enjoyed it. Shame we couldn't stay and join in but it would.have been too much for Paul. Sheer determination and steroids were the only thing that worked plus 3 guys to get him downstairs. Still we now have all the memories and photos to enjoy. "If you’re looking for a band who can come onstage to a marquee full of people quietly chatting and drinking and within minutes turn them into full-scale dance Machine with everybody in the place laughing and enjoying themselves, Then I think The Blaggers might be the act for you. Guests at our event (held to raise funds to prevent the destruction of a greenbelt zone) ranged from 20s to 60s, But all were captivated by the humour professionalism and generally good time emanating from rom the band. I am a professional filmmaker and have shot an l lot of promo videos for bands, from Euorope (yep, “the final countdown”) to Paul Young to AC/DC, and The Blaggers have that same charismatic quality that you see in all these massively successful bands. For a 3 piece they also a pack a monster sound, and over the course of three sets in one evening they played not only the Gay Gordons and other traditional stuff but also sex and drugs and rock’n’ roll and people are strange by the doors – not something you hear from average ceilidh band. I would highly recommend them if you’re having any kind of function we want to get the whole crowd involved. Oh and did I mention they’re very nice guys as well?"

"We needed a to book a last-minute Bluegrass band for a country & western themed event for one of our clients. Lilac was accommodating and made sure the band and musicians were arranged and arrived in plenty time to allow for rehearsals. Bluegrass With Us performed well and included a line dance instructor. Overall we had a successful night and a satisfied client. I would recommend their services. Thank you again."

"We hired Wraggle Tagle for our early Burns ceilidh (17th January 2026 Saturday St Giles' without Cripplegate Church, Fore St, Barbican, London EC2Y 8DA). They brought a PA which was great and played really nicely. The caller worked us hard but gave us breaks during which they played lovely songs.The caller used her radio mic to get in between us for instruction in good humour which was much appreciated. Please extend to the band and caller a big thank you for a great job yesterday. Great music, instruction and much humour. I'm keen to do Saturday 23 January 2027. Would you be available then? Jake Kirner, St Giles' without Cripplegate Church"
