Review Centre: Barn Dance Bands

"For 13 years I have coordinated highly successful ceilidh dances in Bishopbriggs High School and now the new Bishopbriggs Academy. These Christmas dances are the culmination of 3 weeks of social dance with all year groups and it it a priority of mine that we have live music to create an upbeat atmosphere. I consider it part of my job to ensure these traditional dances are taught in school in a way pupils will enjoy and will perpetuate. This year I secured the services of The Shooglers for our S5/6 dance. The evening was a fantastic success and enjoyed immensely by pupils and staff alike. The band worked a perfect blend of traditional Scottish dance tunes with contemporary music the pupils are familiar with, which heightened their participation in – and positive attitude to – “social dancing”. I have already asked the band to perform at next year’s S5/6 dance in the school. I know it will be a special occasion. I recommend The Shooglers unreservedly to anyone hosting school dances, weddings or any kind of function. "

"If you're looking for a sign to book these guys, this is is!!! Lilac, Remko and the band were absolutely fantastic!! We got married in America then had a party back home to celebrate with friends and family. We did an American themed party and Barn With Us exceeded all of our expectations. We also chose the line dancing caller add on, this got people up on the dance floor and was so much fun. My little girl got to sing a little of Jolene with Lilac and absolutely made her year! "Booked Ben and the band for our wedding, from the first record they had everyone up and dancing best entertainment ever, everyone raved about them , 2 of our guest are booking them for their upcoming wedding every guest said it was the best wedding entertainment they had ever experienced. "I hired the The Mighty Craic to sing at my post wedding party in a pub. Although id booked them to play early, they had the whole pub dancing at three in the afternoon. They were great Craic, my wife and I couldn’t have been more pleased. The music was great, and they judged the songs to the audience perfectly to keep everyone dancing. Would defiantly recommend them and use them again for the next family event or party."

"What a find! The Blue Jewel Celidh Band were just amazing. We are a charity and had organized a St Patrick's Day Barn Dance and are truely grateful to the band for stepping in at the last minute. The whole evening was joyous with a great party feel to it. Everyone danced from children and young people to grandparents. The caller and the musicians were enthusiastic and extremely competent. There was a great atmosphere and buzz everyone had a great time and were asking when was the next one! A big THANK YOU to the Blue Jewel Celidh band."

"Another musician recommended Rachel, and I'm so pleased that he did! Rachel was joined by Matt Coyte (percussion), and their duo was perfect for our mini festival. The music was mainly fairly recent covers, 90's/00's, from Pink to Katy Perry to Snow Patrol. They turned up on time, very friendly and professional. They were very accommodating to our guests - from kids having a sing along on their mic, to well oiled grown ups joining them too! The booking process and communications before hand were easy - all over email, and very efficient. Absolutely 10/10 - we will book for next year if we can! Thanks Rachel!"
