"We had a great time ably assisted by the music and calling of the Black Velvet Ceilidh Band. Thank you so much! The band were very adaptable, as we changed the arrangement for the sets on the night, and reassured that they were there to entertain - which they certainly did. They got people up dancing from the first note to the last and many, many guests have commented how much they enjoyed the ceilidh."

"Lilac was amazing. it was such a sad day for us but she managed to get us singing and even dancing!, by the end. I cant praise her enough. We will hopefully book Lilac again for a happier occasion"

"Now that Zish and I are back from our honeymoon we wanted to say "Thankyou" yet again for the fantastic job you did on our wedding night. Zish and I both really enjoyed it, and loads of people have complemented us on our choice - you did a great job of getting people onto the dance floor. Even people who asked me if I was mad having a ceilidh turned around and told me how glad they were to have been proved wrong, and I know about 2 of the Irish guys surprised everyone by getting up to dance when normally they say "Over my dead body"! Some of Zish's colleagues suggested making ceilidh dancing a regular team event!"

"Sorry it's taken soooooo long to get in touch - we've just got back from our honeymoon. Just reporting in to say a massive big fat thank you to Partydown - Oh My Lord, they were absolutely sensational, everybody and I mean EVERYBODY has said how totally fantastic they were. The boys are brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate in booking them again, total quality, there was no-one sat down! "

"Ruby was an Absolute star! She was so professional and the way she can read the crowd to know what songs to go with next she’s amaze balls! I can honestly say with my hand on my heart she made our day! She has an amazing energy that you feel through her voice! You need to charge way more for her amazing talent! The booking process was really easy and straight forward and I will definitely be recommending yourself and Ruby to friends and family! "After being let down by our usual band, Lilac was kind enough to secure a last-minute band for our 2018 New Year's Eve celebration, which we appreciated wasn't easy. The band was just what we needed. The dance floor was full all evening and bar earnings doubled from the previous year well before midnight. I warmly recommend this high class act."

"It's the day after booking the Rib Ticklers for my husbands 50th Birthday. It was wonderful!! The band were nothing but professional, accommodating and very friendly! The choice of songs was well matched to the party crowd and we were sad when it was over. We have had many texts saying how good the band were and where did we find them. Thank you for all your help with our questions beforehand too. We are very happy customers. Great service from start to finish and price was very competitive. "

"First time ive used Lastminutemusicians so happy i came across it online. Easy to use website, choose a musician by Area,Genre,Solo or Band & Budget. I chose Jack M a solo acoustic singer/guitarist. He managed a special request for me by learning to sing & play a song he hadnt done before at very short notice. Guests at the party wouldnt have known and thought he had been performing it for years it was perfect. In fact his whole set was perfect. Would love to see Jack M at one of his own gigs in the future. I will recommend lastminutemusicians & Jack M to anyone."

"Wow what a night, such a good party! It takes Two were just marvellous. There was plenty of contact before the party asking us what we wanted, they arrived in plenty of time to set up and their music just right, a variety of old and new with some guitar solo’s...plus Kelly voice is wonderful. We would highly recommend them, they are very professional, good value for money and really get the party going. Thank you both so much."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – International Student’s Ceilidh – July 2025 This is the second time we have booked the Black Velvet Band for our summer ceilidh, and it was such fun! The band ran two different dancing sessions for our international students and were very patient with explaining the dances and encouraging all students to participate. The music was brilliant and energetic, and all three band members were so kind and even paused for a photoshoot with the students. We are looking forward to next summer already. I’d absolutely recommend them for any event/party/celebration!"
