"We booked the The Mighty Craic for my sisters wedding after seeing them perform at Cheltenham Races where they had a huge crowd going wild! They had the same desired effect at the wedding where everyone loved them, their music appealing to young and old with a varied repertoire of Irish music and hits and crowd pleasers from Elvis to Oasis. They were professional, friendly and a pleasure to deal with - I would not hesitate to recommend them."

"Mark and I can’t thank you enough, everyone said how great the band was. It was great because you got everyone up and dancing, it made the evening of the wedding. Communication throughout was great and any questions and queries were answered. Would definitely recommend or if we were to have another function/party we would definitely rebook. "We loved having Jamie play at our wedding reception - it was a very last minute booking due to Covid meaning some of our plans had to change, so we were lucky to get him and he was very accommodating and gracious. He has an amazing voice, excellent repertoire of songs and brought good vibes all round. He even stayed chilled when some of our over enthusiastic guests took the mic to sing their own songs (which must be quite annoying for musicians but he handled it really well and the night went off without a glitch!) Thanks Jamie, and for anyone else looking for the perfect musician don’t hesitate to book him!"

"We were looking for a modern Irish band to play at our autumn barn wedding and when we found Absolute we knew they were perfect! They played some great modern upbeat Irish songs, mixed in with other pop and rock classics, getting everyone on the dance floor and a great fit for our amazing wedding. Cannot thank Geoff and Steve enough for everything and making our day so memorable and special. "We booked Jamie for our wedding, for both a couple of live sets & his DJ service. He really did not disappoint & was amazing on the night.. His vocal performances are great & his voice so unique that he makes any song his own! He did every song we asked for off his repertoire & even chucked in a few more, which all went down a treat with our guests.. and again with the DJ service.. he played all the songs we asked for & created a unique vibe for the evening personalised just for us! If we were ever to have a party or another event I would look to hire Jamie again 100%, not only is he amazing at his job, but he is such a great, friendly guy.. who helped make our special day that bit more! :-)"

"We booked Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio for a sixtieth birthday party. Very much a family event, so all ages including children, who particularly enjoyed it, although everyone had a really great time. One of the parents told me that her little one has decided that a ceilidh is the very best kind of birthday party, so the bar was set high for all future birthdays there! A few people knew the dances already, but most didn’t, and our caller guided us through each dance so that everyone could join in the fun! The atmosphere was lovely, and the musicians were impressive, plus really lovely people who were accommodating, helpful and great fun. I would definitely recommend them; they were fantastic, and the whole evening was an absolute joy. The only thing now is to find a good reason to do it all again!"

"Mark was excellent and I would whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone looking to add a bit of live music to their party. Despite stepping in at the last moment (we only booked him the day before when our previous band pulled out), he communicated well, arrived promptly and set up with minimal fuss. He was very flexible regarding timings and judged his setlist and the crowd perfectly with some laid back numbers to start with and some more upbeat songs in the later sets. All this despite constantly being pestered by children to let them sing or to play their favourite song! We would happily book him again in an instant."

"Black Velvet Band provided a five piece ceilidh band and caller for the finale of the Hawkins’ team building event. We thought the room would be too big – but we were wrong! The band brought an absolute gem of a caller, who read the crowd perfectly and the dance floor was full throughout the evening. We could have done with a larger space! The band was superb and the event was enjoyed by all concerned. I thoroughly recommend the band."

"Massive shout out to these guys.....they were fab! Played at my wedding last month after it being postponed previously due to Covid & during the last 2 years they have been a pleasure to liase with, so likeable & down to earth, with great sense of humours!!!! Very talented group of lads with amazing vocals from Steve the lead singer AKA Bocelli!!!!!! Who sang our first dance song which was Perfect!!! :) Couldn't recommend them higher enough......so much so I might have to start planning another wedding so I can have them play again!! "What a fabulous party we had with everyone entering into the spirit of the ceilidh! The music was great and the caller was exceptionally patient with the disproportionate number of young men at the party. It was a really mixed crowd – plenty of teens and twenties, through to those in their eighties. The dance floor was full throughout the evening and everyone, both young and old joined in, including the determined non dancers. Several people commented on what a lovely time they’d had. I’m very happy to recommend the band."
