Review Centre: Celtic Groups & Ceilidh Bands

"Paul was recommended to us by a former colleague. He provided a strong three-piece band to lead a ceilidh at our wedding reception. For an intergenerational group of mixed-ability dancers (including some with no ability) he was encouraging, clear in his verbal instructions, and the band uplifting and rhythmic. Just about everybody participated in the dancing at some point or another in the evening, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Communication with Paul at all stages was straightforward and easy, and I would heartily recommend him and his ensemble should anybody be considering commissioning a ceilidh!"

"Caravan Swing has entranced our tea shop twice now. Each time with only a modicum of advertising the place was packed to the rafters. Pure magic, they can take you on a journey back in time to foreign lands and bring you home again all in the space of a few minutes, they can play infectiously dancing music, and lull you into a trance with soulful ballads. The audience has been rapturous each time. Can't wait to get them back."

"Angela, many thanks for the two accomplished sets you played 'al fresco' at my wife's 50th birthday party. You kept all our guests entertained and engaged before and after lunch with a range of Irish ballads and reels and helped set and maintain the tempo for the day. Great music and well played. "They arrived promptly, set up without any fuss, played two brilliant sets , were very generous with their time and got everyone dancing. Mike called the dances clearly and gave people chance to have a quick practice. Mike encouraged everyone and the dance floor never emptied. The band really helped make the wedding very special. "

"Hello Absolute! We just wanted to say thanks to the band for performing at our wedding recently. We had seen you before so knew that you were a great band and our guests seemed very impressed. The rendition of our first dance song (You are the Best Thing by Ray Lamontagne) was perfect, so thank you very much for that! "I’d just like to say a massive thank you to Dave, Mike and Gerry who form BM Ceilidh Band. This is the third event that we have booked them for and once again it was a massive success. They are always reliable and turn up on time. They set up the equipment with no fuss and are very adaptable to any type of event whether it be a Burns Night, a Ceilidh, a Wedding or a Birthday Party. Dave is incredibly patient at giving instructions to those who are novice dancers and even goes out onto the dance floor to help people with the dance steps. They cater for all abilities, young and old! Dave encourages people to get up to dance without being too intrusive and has a good sense of humour which makes people laugh and enjoy the night. Everyone who has been to our events where BM Ceilidh Band have played have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have always been very positive about this band. I would certainly recommend the BM Ceilidh Band for any occasion and will be booking them again in the future."

"My birthday ceilidh was extremely enjoyable and the band played a large part in setting and sustaining a lively and very jolly atmosphere! It certainly wasn't hard to get people on their feet and dancing and Alan's calling was clear and simple enough to follow, though, of course, not everyone managed to do so absolutely all the time.
