"Booked Ben and the band for our wedding, from the first record they had everyone up and dancing best entertainment ever, everyone raved about them , 2 of our guest are booking them for their upcoming wedding every guest said it was the best wedding entertainment they had ever experienced. Tad was absolutely fantastic from the off, providing a speedy and competitive quote, and answering any queries I had all the way up to the wedding. The team arrived on time to set up, were very mindful of not interrupting any of the proceedings and gave us a wonderful night of music and dancing. I hadn't seen my brother dance for at least thirty years and more than one wife was surprised to see her "no dancing" husband enjoying himself on the dance floor. "

"Second time we have heard Blue jewel - the first at their recent gig in the Stoke Gabriel Village hall just last Saturday they put on a Ceilidh Dance for our wedding reception. Really great on both occasions - super caller for our dance - just right for the many who had never done folk dancing and on both occasions their enthusiasm and light touch really made for a great evening. Would recommend for any occasion "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Emma’s Daughter’s Wedding – April 2025 What a brilliant evening! The band were exactly what we wanted for my daughter’s wedding and really helped the reception go with a swing. Good music and the caller was great fun and guided us through the dances. Really good communication leading up to the wedding, too. Thank you for a fabulous evening."

"We booked Funk With Us for our wedding in October and wow, it was the best decision ever!! The music and dancing part of the wedding was so important for us and SWU absolutely smashed it - so much energy from start to finish - we (and our guests) never left the dancefloor. It exactly what we'd hoped for and dreamed of... especially after 2 postponements! We loved being able to choose our favourite music from the SWU repertoire - which Lilac then transformed into the perfect setlist for our party. After the wedding, so many of our guests commented on how amazing the band was - and its the music makes the party!! Huge thank you to Lilac and Remko for everything."

"Thank you so much for making our wedding the party of the year – everyone loved the music! Black Velvet Band Irish Trio played at our wedding reception and they were brilliant. I had worried whether people would want to dance to Irish music but I shouldn’t have. Everyone loved the music! We had a real proper Irish Hooley, with lots of dancing, singing-along and some humour in-between. As this was a marriage of cultures (English, Irish and Dutch) we were also touched that the band played a couple of traditional Dutch songs, allowing the Dutch to have a good sing-along as well. And when my dad asked if they could accompany him for a song to sing after his speech, it was no problem. The guys in the band are proper musicians who can play what the crowd needs to keep the party fuelled. The only complaint I have had is from my knees – which are still complaining, even after 4 days rest! Next time, I will wear trainers."
