"Lisa played for our wedding last year and was absolutely outstanding. She made the day even more magical. Lisa was so easy to work with while giving us loads of helpful advice and meeting our every requirement. 4 couples who attended our wedding went on to book her for theirs and were every bit as happy. A remarkable singer and musician. Get booking!"

"Lisa did the music in the church for our wedding. I gave her a list of songs I wanted, some of them she didn't know but was willing to learn for our big day. She was very helpful at filling in the bits I had neglected and selected some beautiful pieces of music. Although the day is a bit of a blur to me, everyone still comments on how amazing the music was. She also sang our first dance with the band which was very special. I think the band would have kept her all night! I'd highly recommend her. "

"Thank you to the Fiddlestix Band for an awesome evening of entertainment. The band joined us for a big birthday with 100 guests from ages 2 to 80 years. The music was infectious and they really set the tone for an evening of joy and laughter. The caller was great and the music in between sets was lovely (boy that lady has a voice!). "Big thanks to Davie, Stevie and Gordon of The Shooglers for playing at my wedding at Killearn Village Hall. They were great at talking us through the dances as half of our guests had no previous experience of ceilidh dancing. Their rocky twist is done fantastically well and they cleverly link classic rock songs into the traditional ceilidh music. We first saw them play at the ghillie dhu and so I can safely say they are very versatile with the events they play. The guys are very down to earth and easy to sort out the logistics through email. Thanks again guys, we will definitely look out for you if you play any public events again! "

"It was a pleasure to welcome singer Ruby to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. She treated staff, patients and their families to a musical treat in the main hospital atrium singing a range of classics from the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s. Ruby performed for an hour and attracted people from all over the hospital to come and watch. She has great charisma and her interaction with those who watched was lovely and it was good to see the smiles on people's faces who passed by. If you want a fabulous voice and an amazing presence then Ruby is your lady!"

"I just wanted to say such a huge thank you for the amazing performance that you gave. You were so friendly and willing to help in any way that any nervousness about getting up to dance was immediately dismissed. I was extremely apprehensive prior to the night about how the dancing would go down, especially with my two left feet! However my worrying was in vain, what a fantastic night of dancing it was, so inclusive that any and all can get up and get involved, aged 5 or 105. You need no experience or talent, just listen to the brilliant calling, it’s all simple moves but when it comes together with all your friends and family on the night, prepare to be amazed. I can not thank the band enough for making our Wedding such a fantastic night, I have never seen so many people thoroughly enjoying themselves all at once. I can sincerely recommend the Black Velvet Band for any social occasion, your expectations will be exceeded."

"Sorry for the delay in writing, but i would like to say a massive THANK YOU for recommending 'Party Sounds' and arranging for them to play at our Silver Wedding Celebrations. They were everything I had hoped they would be, and more. I was impressed that Mark took the time and trouble to keep in touch with me by telephone rather than by email (which can get a bit messy) and to discuss our likes and dislikes about the music for the evening. They arrived on time at the golf club and we just left the rest to them. It was lovely to be able to put trust in their professionalism and knowledge of their clients preferences to play all evening. We had kept it a closely guarded secret from our guests that we were having a band, and they were really impressed and pleased with what they saw and heard. My one regret is that I was mixing and talking with our guests so much that I didn't really get to fully appreciate the band as I would if I were a guest at someone else's party! I am trying to talk my friends into doing the same, so that I can listen to them again. However, whenever I did draw breath, the sound was exactly like they were playing a CD version of the song - I had to keep checking that it was actually Mark and his colleagues who were really singing - and, oh boy , it most definitely was!! So thank you once again, and please feel free to use my words as recommendation to others. 'Party Sounds' would definitely be my first choice of music for any events in the future. I don't even think I would consider hiring a DJ ever again :)"
