Review Centre: Barn Dance Bands

"Saturday night was just amazing at Bookmark Bloxwich Theatre, when Bloxwich Library Forum presented accomplished Country Music band KNOXVILLE HIGHWAY live on stage. And it says a lot about these guys that they filled the house with our first capacity audience (more than 150!) since opening after the 2009-10 refurbishment. A great night out was had by all, filled with toe-tapping and sing-along classics originally sung by the likes of of Hank Williams, Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, John Denver, Toby Keith, Johnny Cash, Tracy Byrd, Jim Reeves, The Eagles, Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Alison Krauss – plus a few surprises including the band’s own songs. Suffice to say that some of the words heard from the audience at the end of the show, included “Wow! Thanks for bringing them to Bloxwich!”, “Simply amazing”, “Thanks for a great night!” and “Bloody Brilliant!” "

"The band was superb and we had a wonderful night. I never thought that so many people would dance and the night flew by. The golf club were so impressed that they would like to be able to replicate the evening in a social evening for all golf members in the future."

"Mike and Jon pitched the performance perfectly for the Fleur de Lis Retirement Home’s garden party in Romsey. The American Country songs created just the right atmosphere to establish the Wild West theme. Everyone loved it – they joined in all the songs! Several residents have sent me messages to say how much they enjoyed the event. We were delighted with the performance and thoroughly recommend the band."

"I just wanted to thank FF.O.B. Band for last Saturday in Abbotsley. The band were amazing and it was a super evening. Ollie the caller had just the right manner too. We had many tickets sold and lots of participation and fun! Hopefully again next year!"

"the New Fox Band were phenomenal at our wedding. They are brilliant musicians and learnt a special request for our first dance. They played 2 very entertaining sets that kept the dance floor full all night, while giving instructions clear enough for a large group of not-so-sober guests! It really made the evening, I would 100% recommend them to anyone"

"We just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and all the band, and of course your caller. We absolutely loved hearing you all play again and it was wonderful seeing all of our friends and family enjoying the dancing and music. It is something we will never forget.  We’re sorry that we weren’t running to time on the day, but thank you for being so understanding and I hope you all managed to enjoy some cake and cheese whilst you were waiting to set up.  We will be keeping an eye out for any future dates in your diary and coming along to another ceilidh, think we’ve got the bug! "These guys were just great and made a special birthday really special. Just loved Mike’s amazing fiddle playing. They accommodated all our requests for Irish and Scottish music and were flexible around times which was great as lunch was later than anticipated. Would highly recommend."

"Davie, I don’t know where to start by thanking you boys for Friday night. There were over 100 peeps there and I would say nearly everyone has commented on how brilliant you were and how you made the night. Big Andy(the big fat loud boy) thinks you’re even better now compared to the wedding and we thought you were awesome then. Everybody had a great time which is mainly down to you guys.
