"Highly recommend Blue Jewel - they are a lively group and helped to make our wedding reception a fun and memorable one. When we first got in touch, Steve got back to us quickly and was very accommodating. The guys even learnt a couple of new songs to play as a medley for our first dance, with no fuss but great effort! :-)"

"Thank you for making our wedding day so special! The music was brilliant and I am so grateful that The Archers theme and 500 Miles were worked into the set. Two days later, my legs still ache from dancing. "

"Dear Mick, Thank you very much to you and your band for playing at our barn dance (15th November 2025 Saturday The Claire Tiltman Centre, Gantry Place, Cotton Lane, Stone, Greenhithe, DA9 9FA}. All our guests had a wonderful time and most of them have said how good the band was and how clear and easy to follow the caller was. Mary managed to get even the most reluctant up and dancing with enough confidence to take part. We shall certainly recommend you, should anyone ask for your details. Best wishes Frances Wallace 27th November 2025"

"We wanted to say a huge thank you to you for the 25th, and for sticking around later so we could get all the reels in, it was really kind of you to stay for us!"

"The Shamrock experience were truly brilliant. A really fun, friendly and energetic band who came to play for my family and friends at my 21st. Their playing was fantastic, running a ceilidh which was really enjoyed by everyone. It was the perfect band for the occasion and I highly recommend them."

"Black Velvet Band helped make the Souldern Village Ceilidh a great success. Ours was a Village event with all ages and the Band got all ages dancing. They played superbly and brought a caller with a good sense of fun. They provided music to dance to, music to listen to and an entertainment show all in one! On a practical level they were professionally early arriving, leaving the event organiser relaxed and free to have a drink! Greatly appreciated in all regards. Ian Grey"

"Well, where do I start, was so easy to book an event with this band, contact via email - was always responded to, and very accommodating. The event went without a hitch. Very clear instructions throughout the evening. Would highly recommend."

"A big thanks to Mike and the rest of the band for a brilliant evening. Everyone has said how much they thoroughly enjoyed it. A special thank you to Alan, the dance caller. He did a great job – quite a comedian! Finally a big thanks to the band for welcoming our fiddle-playing friend Richard into their ranks for the evening. He said he had a fantastic time. What a great party band the guys make! I’m very happy to recommend them to anyone having a bash."

"Thank you Jon, Joyce and team. Everything was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - we got the dancing we wanted and those who [strange people] preferred to natter did so. A few littlies were hopefully introduced to the most civilised form of exercise."

"Paul was recommended to us by a former colleague. He provided a strong three-piece band to lead a ceilidh at our wedding reception. For an intergenerational group of mixed-ability dancers (including some with no ability) he was encouraging, clear in his verbal instructions, and the band uplifting and rhythmic. Just about everybody participated in the dancing at some point or another in the evening, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Communication with Paul at all stages was straightforward and easy, and I would heartily recommend him and his ensemble should anybody be considering commissioning a ceilidh!"

"Big thanks to Davie, Stevie and Gordon of The Shooglers for playing at my wedding at Killearn Village Hall. They were great at talking us through the dances as half of our guests had no previous experience of ceilidh dancing. Their rocky twist is done fantastically well and they cleverly link classic rock songs into the traditional ceilidh music. We first saw them play at the ghillie dhu and so I can safely say they are very versatile with the events they play. The guys are very down to earth and easy to sort out the logistics through email. Thanks again guys, we will definitely look out for you if you play any public events again! "

"We had a fantastic evening, made the more memorable through your great music and the fact that you allowed a couple of budding singers to join you ‘on stage’. You created a great atmosphere and joined in the fun. Thanks again. Jeremy PS Hope you can use that verbatim (discount for next gig….!)"

"Hi Davie, We're just back from honeymoon and wanted to thank you for the music - everyone loved it and the Zorba the Greek was just spectacular! I can’t quite remember if we thanked you at the end of the night (ski shot to blame) but if we didn’t, apologies and we would have no problems recommending you again! Hope there were no china injuries to you or the equipment! Many thanks!"
