Review Centre: String Quartets

"Scherzando Strings played for us at our recent wedding and they were fantastic! They played to my guests at the Church before we arrived, and learned the song I chose to walk down the isle to especially for me as it wasn't in their repertoire. They then played songs we loved during the singing of the register too which made the whole ceremony so much more special ( Braveheart brought a tear to everyone's eye). They then set up at our reception venue and played more wonderful music for the welcome hour, including Disney, Bridgerton, Harry Potter, opera, classical, just a great mix that kept us all entertained and they are wonderful, friendly people too. Sue was great to chat too and no request was too much trouble. Would 1000% hire again for any event. (10 / 10)"

"Hello Anne, Thankyou I had a wonderful time. But it would have been nothing without the string quartet. They played so beautifully, honestly everyone was enthralled. I had to stop them playing as they would have gone over their Time!!!! Only minor problem, the one man band arrived early and started setting up thus allowing very little time for the quartet. But they took it in their stride. Thank You so much Anne for providing us with such a fab night. Who knows we may have another occasion where we can use your quartets wonderful musical talents. "Dealing with Lynette ahead of the event was a pleasure, she was very easy to talk to and make all of the arrangements with. It was a shame I didn't get to meet her on the day, however this was down to her and the team just getting on with the job, by following the information she had been given to get to the venue and where she needed to be, which on a busy event day is just what you need. Fantastically low maintenance! Reports from our guests were really positive, the music was perfect and was pitched at just the right volume to provide a lovely ambience for our lunch, without being intrusive."

Also CelloUna’s repertoire includes the Jurassic Park theme tune, which was ideal as we got married under a T-Rex at Manchester Museum. "I first encountered The Tuning Forks fairly recently, at a 200 capacity independent venue in the Strathbungo area of Glasgow. I was there as House Audio Tech and it was one of those nights where before the soundcheck had even commenced, I had a sense that something pretty special was about to happen. The individual tones they delivered during soundcheck were staggeringly rich and I knew that once the faders were at unity and the ensemble played as a unit that my initial instinct had to be correct. I was NOT prepared for the emotive, playful and dare I say, danceable set which we were treated to. Like an organism made of limbs that mostly supported each other without obstruction, ego or flashiness, but with occasional forays into wild and feral territories; always as a unit and simultaneously bubbling like a pot on the stage with sudden bursts of joyous phrase manipulation or flurries of individual hyper-expression that always teased and never outstayed their welcome. I was left shellshocked and almost lost for words immediately following their performance. Frivolity, lullabying, romance, questing, struggle, sadness, ecstasy and introspection seemed to come like waves from the stage but, the overall feeling was that the explorations I was witness to were a fun and gentle love letter to the magic of the life experience. In summation… There are very few artists that inspire me to lower my inhibitions enough to literally ASK to work with them again as soon as possible… but that’s exactly what was called for!"

"These guys are beyond perfect. We do not know how to say thank you. They were amazing, in the heat these guys played consistently and patiently. They were a fantastic touch to our wedding and I strongly recommend that you ONLY book these guys! You will not be disappointed. We are trying to find another occasion to book them for!"
