"I should say how much I enjoyed the ceilidh and your superb playing. It was a delight to both listen and dance to. You all have an extraordinary ability to drive the music whilst retaining an intricate coherence to it all – quite remarkable when you play without drums. And I know I'm not alone in enjoying the music; a number of friends made a point of saying how much they enjoyed it."

"Thank you so much for an incredible night, everyone had such a good time. The whole experience from first booking the band to the last dance went so easy and without a hitch. I would have listened to the music more but spent far too much time laughing!! Thank you again, I would recommend the band (Two Left Feet) and caller to anyone, it was the most fun night had in ages. "From the beginning everything about booking the band was carried out in an extremely professional manner. The agent was very helpful and it didn’t take long for everything to be confirmed for the big party- my daughter’s 21st. A few weeks before the event Ruth contacted me to discuss music ideas. Straightaway I sensed her enthusiasm and enjoyment for what she does and we couldn’t wait for the music on the night. On the night everyone turned up as arranged and the band was left to set up. Then the best bit!! The music was absolutely amazing. It was impossible not to be toe tapping and bopping throughout the set. The age range was wide from 6 to 65 and the band had them all up dancing and smiling. The line dance caller was doing a grand job explaining all the moves and shouting out encouragement- and rescuing the ones who got a bit lost!! The band played 2 one hour sets ( kindly covering for me after the first set as the food wasn’t quite ready!!) and also performing the Christmas song “Fairy Tale of New York” in the middle of summer as it’s my daughter’s favourite song!! Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the massive amount of positive feedback from them all really makes you know that the party went well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone- you won’t be disappointed."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Quartet – Linda Duly’s Retirement Party – April 2026 We had a great evening of Ceilidh dancing with Black Velvet providing the entertainment. Around 50 of us with little or no experience had so much fun – loads of smiles and happy faces! Thanks Black Velvet Band."

"Hi Gordon, We can't begin to thank you and the band enough for making Friday such a special evening. Helen was really looking forward to dancing with all her friends and the music you played certainly made people want to get up and join in, even oldies like me. Thank you also for managing the ceilidh dancing so well in a very restricted amount of space. We had expected just a few people to take part but were overwhelmed by the numbers and the enthusiasm. Helen had forewarned a number of her friends about the dances we were having so a few had taken advantage of the YouTube tutorials available but the success was all down to yourself. We both realised that you played for much longer than initially envisaged so thank you very much for that. Best wishes!"

" Black Velvet Band Irish Duo came to play at the Christmas Party for our CrossFit Gym held in the farmhouse on the site; they were easy and helpful to deal with from the start; everything clear and simple to follow. The performance was perfect for the occasion and Mike and his colleague were easy going and a pleasure to have around. They spent time with a guest who wanted to learn how to play one of the instruments and were great for getting people up and dancing. Thoroughly recommend the Irish Duo! "

"Black Velvet Band Irish Trio - Cheltenham Gold Cup - March 2025 Absolutely brilliant band - everybody loved them! We booked the band to play at The Three Lions, Stourport-on-Severn on Gold Cup Day 2025 and didn't regret the decision. They came in set up and started playing straight away and immediately the dance floor was full. We were turning people away at the door as the pub was full to the brim! They played to the crowd and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. "

"New Fox Ceilidh Band played at our wedding in October and they were amazing. A lot of our guests had never done a ceilidh before and Paul was great at walking everyone through the steps so that they knew what they were doing. It was honestly one of the best parts of our wedding day, I cannot recommend them enough. "
