"We were delighted with the ceilidh band; they were lovely, professional and sounded brilliant! I was really impressed how they matched the energy of the guests really well, making sure to give little breaks or easier dances when energy was flagging and also played some lovely high energy numbers to get the dancing started! The venue was also really complimentary at how quick and professional they were at setting up and putting away at the end with no bother. Lastly, they pitched the level perfectly with some more difficult pieces and some easier ones that really suited our mostly beginner crowd. Their calling was fun and upbeat and they were polite and professional to a fault. "Thanks once again for playing at our event. The band was brilliant and your voice was amazing. I particularly like the way you guys adapted each set to the needs of the event. Your sound engineer, Remko constantly adapted the set up and sound to make sure that it sounded great around the whole venue. Lighting and even a smoke machine (!) made the barn into a real western disco! ll in all it made for a fantastic night, Thanks you AMERICANA!!!!!"

"Black Velvet Band Hoedown Trio / 7oaks TriClub Hoedown Barn Dance / November 2024 The Black Velvet Hoedown Trio were superb on Saturday 16th November for our annual 7Oaks TriClub dinner dance. We had 50 members turn up at the Chipstead Sailing Club Clubhouse, and I can tell you that as soon as Mike and his band started playing the first set, everyone got up to dance! There were high levels of energy in the room and the Hoedown Trio rose to the occasion spectacularly, matching our enthusiasm and giving us little anecdotes on the history of the dance with instructions as we cooled down and grabbed a different partner. The band were duly fed and watered with a delicious Greek buffet, and by special request they played a Greek dance to thank the chefs. I think Black Velvet were stunned with the energy levels and full dance floor - and there was no slacking from music or dancing. By the end of the second set we were all perspiring in a good way!!!! There have been calls from many members to make this an annual event, so rest assured we will re-book the chaps for a rematch! A fantastic evening had by all. Many thanks to Mike and the band. "

"Dear Kellys Heroes, Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. You were brilliant and so patient with us! So many of our guests have remarked how much they loved it- from the 20 year olds to the 70 year olds, all loved it and joined in, which is exactly what we wanted. Even the hip-hop fans who normally grumble at anything else were up having a whale of a time. We appreciated you expertise and advice and would recommend you to others. We hope you enjoyed playing and we're sorry the rugby score was not better!"

"I can not recommend The New Fox Band enough. They had everyone dancing (from kids to our generation at end twenties to our parents) within 1 minute at our wedding and it was a fantastic atmosphere. They were brilliant at explaining the dances to the novices (incuding all the guests from outside the UK who'd never danced a Ceilidh before) so that all our guests had a really fun time. Communication was fantastic and they were really flexible with setting up and sound checking to fit in with the rest of the evening."

"Great music and well coordinated by caller for each dance. Good encouragement was given to the guests to participate in the dances. It worked well even though we only had 40 guests. Good variety of music to cater for all tastes. Thoroughly enjoyable evening and would recommend the Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band to anyone."

"Well what can we say! Eljay were absolutely fantastic arrived on time with equipment set up ready for the evening. They sang lots of different songs from old to new keeping the ears of our guests entertained ready for more. Lucy was absolutely amazing such a talented lady would love to have thwmat another event. The only down side was that the evening seemed to go to fast but as the saying goes time flys when your having fun. Would so love to see them again in the future absolutely fantastic performance what an amazing band."
