"Tzigauners played at our garden party and we could not have asked for a better band. They arrived on time, set up without a fuss and were really friendly throughout. If you like Jazz and in particular Gypsy Jazz, this band is perfect. Nice guys, will be in touch for next year's party."

"Cordes en Bleues played at my husband's birthday party. They were excellent from start to finish. They communicated really well prior to the event, were lovely to chat to, really easy going, and played a fantastic set. We would highly recommend them."

" We hired the Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio for a party, and we could not have been happier with their performance. The band’s admin team reached out prior to the event to make arrangements, and communication was maintained throughout. Set up was quick and efficient in the background of our event, and before we knew it, we were forming lines for our first Ceilidh. It was a mixed group in terms of experience, but Phil delivered clear instructions prior to each dance, and everyone quickly picked it up. The trio are all exceptionally skilled musicians, and the music throughout the dancing was fantastic. We booked two hours of dancing and found that to be the perfect amount of time post-dinner. Black Velvet Band created a fun and lively atmosphere at our event and the Ceilidh dancing was enjoyed by all. We will definitely be in contact with the band for future events and would recommend them to all."

"We’ve had really positive feedback from the event and it was a lovely family day. There were approximately 800 residents that came along and enjoyed the entertainment . The band were great and kept in contact with me throughout the day to see if what they were offering was suitable for the event. I was out and about taking photographs of the event and saw several residents having a dance to the brass band or clapping away to the tune. Overall we were really pleased with the entertainment provided and the band were all lovely."

"Black Velvet Band helped make the Souldern Village Ceilidh a great success. Ours was a Village event with all ages and the Band got all ages dancing. They played superbly and brought a caller with a good sense of fun. They provided music to dance to, music to listen to and an entertainment show all in one! On a practical level they were professionally early arriving, leaving the event organiser relaxed and free to have a drink! Greatly appreciated in all regards. Ian Grey"

"The Black Velvet Band provided us with a fantastic ceilidh for our wedding reception. They really got everyone up and moving, so much better than a boring DJ set. They were even accommodating to our more inebriated guests and explained the dance moves clearly. We had a wonderful time and would consider them again for future parties."

"We had a fantastic joint 30th birthday party for 60 people and the Black Velvet Ceilidh Band did an amazing job of making the evening a huge success! Mike gave me a call a couple of weeks prior to the event to confirm all arrangements such as timings, location, numbers, and the experience of the party goers (very mixed - lots of complete beginners). Mike was really enthusiastic on the phone and I felt very confident all was going to go well. At the beginning of the evening, we were pretty disorganized and neither James or I were there to meet the band on arrival, but our friend saw them into the venue and they were very flexible and happy to go with the flow and got set up really quickly. The whole band were keen to help and happily agreed to start the ceilidh a little later than planned, as well as letting me use the mic to make announcements! The 2 x 1 hour sets of ceilidh dancing were amazing and both the calling and music were fantastic - our guests absolutely loved every moment of it and have all said how much they enjoyed the music and dancing. Thank you very much to the whole band for an excellent evening, we would recommend you to anyone! "

"We came across Swing Gitan at the Nottingham Contemporary and were both taken by their energetic and uplifting sound delivered in a skilled and playful fashion. Since then we have had the pleasure of seeing quite a few of their gigs and never been disappointed and so when we were considering who to book for our wedding last august the choice was easy. We wanted music for music lovers that people could also dance to and were no disappointed. The whole process of booking the band and arranging the specifics as well as asking them to learn the Waltz that we intended to dance to was just really straight forward and pleasurable which was certainly helped by Elliott’s easygoing ways and quiet confidence that this would turn out the way we had hoped. We feel very lucky and blessed to have had the good fortune together such good people for our wedding occasion and the presence of Swing Gitan was a large part of that. Indeed, it was a testament to the success of the band that people of all backgrounds and ages loved their performances and demonstrated this through dancing, shouting and cheering throughout the night. Needless to say, we would highly recommend this band to anyone seeking a great sounding and quirky gypsy jazz band! "
