"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – James and May-Kate’s Wedding Ceilidh – April 2026 We enjoyed having Black Velvet at our wedding party to play two sets of Ceilidh dancing. The guests thoroughly enjoyed dancing to the music after being taught the dances. Even our four year niece joined in with some of the dancing! The band were prompt to set up and we enjoyed the live music. James Battle-Matthews"

"Dearest Sarah- Jane and the boys Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. It was perfect. Everyone has been talking about it. Honestly, it was so hot but was perfect because it turned the room into a ‘Speakeasy’. It was brilliant and people were chatting away and just having the best time. "Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio provided a brilliant ceilidh for our wedding celebrations at Goldney Hall, Bristol on 12 August 2017. What a fantastic evening! The band entertained our hardy Scottish guests with well-known Scottish dances but it was most enjoyable to see English friends and family ceilidh dancing for the first time and loving it! The dances were called very clearly and were quite ambitious so there was much hilarity. It was infectious fun and everyone got involved. (The dance floor was almost too small!) Mike and the band were extremely accommodating, professional and enthusiastic. The band has a huge repertoire and organised the evening flawlessly, from our first dance (Gay Gordons) to the throwing of the bouquet and the final Circassian Circle. Highly recommended. Thanks again for a fantastic evening of fun!"

"What a great way to celebrate St Patrick’s day at our Cons club! The performance went amazingly well! The dance floor was full on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON! I put that down to the guys who played songs and tunes with such an exciting beat that you just couldn’t stay still. The whole afternoon was huge fun. I highly recommend the band."

"Swing Mode Vintage absolutely made our day: they were absolutely the perfect evening entertainment for our wedding! The music was really really cool, they had people up and dancing and just really brought a great atmosphere with them. It was fantastic. The band were all really kind and well organised; there was zero stress & zero faff. They got everything set up in good time including background music between the two sets. They took a special request for our first dance and it was really really wonderful. Overall we were just thrilled with the music: it was really really cool stuff - modern and funky, but most important just great fun!"

" Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio performed at our Wedding reception. The music was fantastic and Alan the caller talked our guests through the dances with patience and wit. Our guests included some serious Scottish dancing enthusiasts together with a lot of enthusiastic amateurs, complete beginners and no hopers - all of whom had an absolute blast! We would highly recommend the band and a couple of our guests made enquiries about booking them for upcoming events, which speaks for itself. Thank you for providing us with fantastic memories filled with joy and laughter. "
