Review Centre: Folk Groups

"We booked these guys for our wedding in May 2022 and in one word they were AMAZING!!! (apologies for the delayed review guys.. having technology problems) We wanted a ceilidh dance for a part of the night along with more modern and 'traditional' wedding wedding party songs later on, and to be honest we were struggling to find any groups that 'fit the bill. Then we found Ceilidh With Us. Right from the first contact we knew it was going to just what we wanted and all throughout the process they were so helpful, from organising the timetable of the evening, to working with our song lists and making it all fit together to create one hell of a fantastic night. Lilac performed our first dance song amazingly, we couldn't have been happier, and the ceilidh went down a storm (even if we all struggled with the dashing white sergeant - if you know you know). In short I can not recommend these guys more highly. You will not regret hiring them."

"We held perhaps the most successful party we've ever had on Saturday and appreciation of Martin's part in that cannot be properly described. A lovely man playing beautiful music, he constantly judged the 'mood' of the moment and adapted the play list to suit. Absolutely perfect."

"This band is a class act. Joanne has an unique voice that if heard once, you will instantly recognise. She has a great range and sometimes sings in an operatic tone too. Her husband James is a great guitarist and singer too. They compliment each other and are fun to watch. You will not be disappointed."

"Blue Jewel Ceilidh band were absolutely amazing at our wedding, I cannot rate them highly enough. They were so understanding about us running slightly behind schedule. The music was incredible and got everyone dancing. Kip was also a great caller - really easy instructions to follow and very funny. I even asked for a Welsh tune to be played and one band member actually composed one himself and performed it on the day. I'm unbelievably impressed with this band, and if you're thinking about booking, I'd highly recommend."

"We heard Full Beans perform at Oxjam in late 2015 and decided on the spot that we wanted them at our wedding reception. Their performance on the day was just perfect with a combination of classic gypsy jazz tunes and innovative arrangements of old classics. They were really organised and were spot on with communicating with us about the big day putting our minds at ease. We could not recommend these guys (and gals) enough!"

"The morning after the night before .....Danny was superb . There were only 10/ 12 guests and we booked Danny after seeing his promo videos. He came early - didnt have a lot of equipment as it is a big but not a huge house....his voice and melodies made the night for my husband he was so suprised and every guest was amazed at how smooth and soft Danny s voice was . I made quite a few requests and he managed to fit a good few in - even , a melodic version of Billie Jean which my daughter in law loved. His range of different songs and the ability to sing other artists songs made it even better. He is a lovely man polite , and amenable friendly and suprisingly I read this morning does stand up comedy ??? Wish I knew that last night...lol A perfect singer for a perfect night ...we didnt want him to go. Good luck with your new album Danny.....a very special man....would thoroughlyrecommend "

"Stargazers were fantastic last night. Phoebe and the band’s performance was utterly jaw-dropping, and the set list was spot on, and they sounded so tight. Really made the night even more special, everyone was on their feet....even my 89 year old Grandad. Couldn’t recommend enough."

"Vintage Riffs were absolutely superb. A lovely group of musicians who exuded warmth and fun, were extremely professional and had the most amazing set. Everyone commented on how great they were. The dance floor was packed from start to finish. A wonderful end to a perfect day. The organising and booking procedure was very straightforward and stress free. I would definitely recommend - thank you!"
