"Hi Fiddlestix! We absolutely loved our barn dance and had the most amazing time!! Thankyou all so very much and thanks again for performing the special song for us to all have a slow dance to, we really appreciated it!!!!! All our guests said how lovely the whole thing was! I just felt so awful that you didn’t get your platter of food, I’m so so sorry, I promise you it was all arranged and paid for but the pub completely forgot apparently, I was not best pleased!! There wasn’t even enough food for the rest of the guests really as so many more came than we anticipated!!!!! Anyway thanks again for being amazing ❤️ Love Zoe and Hannah xxx "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / Claire’s 60th Birthday / May 2025 Black Velvet Trio were absolutely perfect for the barn dance we hosted. The trio were cool, calm and professional in their ability to literally herd cats! They were able to bring a huge smile to every face which was always my wish. The musicians were brilliant at just playing wonderful barn dance music whilst we laughed and bumped and crashed about with our two and sometimes three left feet. Our last (came too quick) dance was the Swiss Roll. We all loved it and would be so happy to have Black Velvet Trio back to do it all again."

"I felt I must write and express my admiration for your wonderful band which played so well at our Wedding on Monday at Prestonfield House Hotel. You had gone to so much trouble to play Israeli music and to find those two girls was a stroke of genius. Alison was a terrific compere and I thought that everyone picked up the dances so quickly and so well. It was amazing how the Scottish and Jewish dances blended in so well together. Many, Many thanks to you all."

"We had these guys do a ceilidh for a joint 40th birthday party and they were absolutely brilliant. Beautiful music, a brilliant caller in Jake who struck exactly the right tone for the bash. Clear instructions, slowly bringing the music in, a lot of fun and the right mix of old and new ceilidhs. Would highly recommend"

"Dear Kellys Heroes, Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. You were brilliant and so patient with us! So many of our guests have remarked how much they loved it- from the 20 year olds to the 70 year olds, all loved it and joined in, which is exactly what we wanted. Even the hip-hop fans who normally grumble at anything else were up having a whale of a time. We appreciated you expertise and advice and would recommend you to others. We hope you enjoyed playing and we're sorry the rugby score was not better!"

"Highly recommend these guys" A brilliant performance by 3 talented musicians and showmen. They made out birthday party go with a swing. Every body was up and dancing, they couldn't help themselves. Wide range of music that got everyone engaged. Highly recommend these guys. Donna and I would like to thank you and the band for a fabulous performance at my birthday party on Saturday (15th April 2023 Redlands Road, Reading, RG1) Everybody enjoyed the music and some have become converts to Irish Trad as a result! The combination of Box, Banjo and Guitar worked very well as did your singing of everybody's favourite sing along songs. I'm sure we will be calling on your services again soon. "Just to give a huge thanks to you all for the terrific entertainment on Saturday. We had a marvelous time and loved the music and dancing and diplomatic caller. I hadn't seen my brother dance for at least thirty years and more than one wife was surprised to see her "no dancing" husband enjoying himself on the dance floor. "

"It's No' Reel performed at our wedding at the Albert Halls in Stirling in November. After hearing such great things about them, we actually changed the date of our wedding to ensure they would be free to play! They didn't disappoint on the day. With a mixture of Scottish, English and international guests we thought we would have some ceilidh followed by a disco, but in the end everyone was having such a good time that we just kept on with the ceilidh. From my seven year old nephew to an octogenarian great-aunt, everyone was up dancing all the time. And once the day was over we had a really fun Go Pro video to watch back. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend It's No' Reel to anyone wanting a memorable evening."

"LMM organised the setting up of the event in a very efficient friendly and helpful manner. Even when our original act pulled out unexpectedly Sarah-Jane bent over backwards to ensure we got a similar act at a similar price, all at relatively short notice We were delighted with tremendous set which Martin and Anna of the Ardvierikie Ceilidh Band performed for us all on our son’s wedding night; it exceeded all of our expectations! Right from the word go, their professionalism and enthusiasm shone through, with both demonstrating superb musicianship combined with the excellent calling skills of Anna who got everyone up on their feet for the whole night! It gave all of us all an amazing evening to remember all our lives and greatly contributed to the success of the wedding as a whole."

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio – Judy and Jenny’s 80th Birthday Ceilidh – February 2026 We hired Black Velvet Band to play for our joint 80th birthday celebration at our local golf club. We had a big range of age groups present, and the band and the caller seemed to hit the right spot to get the whole party going! Everyone present thoroughly enjoyed the evening."
