"Thank you so much to all of The Northern Reel Collective for coming to Augill Castle for our wedding ceilidh! Our guests commented on the clarity of instructions, encouragement and enthusiasm of the band. We all had such fun and everyone felt welcome to join in whatever their ability or experience of ceilidhs. We thought you were by far the best ceilidh band we have experienced!"

"We had a fantastic joint 30th birthday party for 60 people and the Black Velvet Ceilidh Band did an amazing job of making the evening a huge success! Mike gave me a call a couple of weeks prior to the event to confirm all arrangements such as timings, location, numbers, and the experience of the party goers (very mixed - lots of complete beginners). Mike was really enthusiastic on the phone and I felt very confident all was going to go well. At the beginning of the evening, we were pretty disorganized and neither James or I were there to meet the band on arrival, but our friend saw them into the venue and they were very flexible and happy to go with the flow and got set up really quickly. The whole band were keen to help and happily agreed to start the ceilidh a little later than planned, as well as letting me use the mic to make announcements! The 2 x 1 hour sets of ceilidh dancing were amazing and both the calling and music were fantastic - our guests absolutely loved every moment of it and have all said how much they enjoyed the music and dancing. Thank you very much to the whole band for an excellent evening, we would recommend you to anyone! "

"What a fabulous night had by all. From the moment we booked the Barnbuskers for our Barn Dance Event at Country Ways they were fantastic. So helpful and well organised. Country Ways had over 100 guests for the Barn Dance and everyone was laughing and smiling. From young to old everyone joined in and had such a lovely evening. We will definitely be recommending the Barnbusker and are already thinking about our next Barn Dance. Thank you so much the Barnbuskers team you made a very memorable evening for all. "Oh, what a night I had to remember on Saturday. (11.9.2021) Sound with Us came to do a Ceilidh for my big birthday bash and provided a disco for afterwards. They were just out of this world and had everybody up dancing or jigging along in their seats. Their sound quality and musicianship were first class and the caller, who had the biggest task keeping everyone in check, did a magnificent job. My guests were in fits of laughter and he was so patient with us and eventually managed to guide most of us through our paces. I’ve had so many messages since, asking where I had hired such a good band from. Sincere thanks to all the band Fran xxxxx"

"The Blue Jewel Ceilidh Band entertained us at our village fete dance and we would highly recommend them. This was the second time we have booked them and they did not disappoint us. They gauged the audience well and made sure both young and old could join in. They coped supremely well with the last minute change of venue due to bad weather also. Communication and booking was easy. Thank you guys! "

"Very many thanks to your lovely band who played at my party on Saturday night - we all had a great time and the band sounded wonderful. Could you also thank the caller (I'm terribly sorry I can't remember her name) who coped with a tough crowd admirably - she had to deal with folk who knew very well what they were doing, complete novices and everything in between, along with some wee ones. She did a grand job, thank you."

"The band were incredible. We had a lot of guests who had never been to a ceilidh before, however we were so impressed that almost everyone was up and dancing, which was largely down to the excellent and engaging caller. It was so much fun! Great communication before the event, and lovely people to talk to on the day. We loved every minute, thank you!"

"The band were an absolute delight, just the right mix of professional musicians and informal enough to mix in with people and jolly them along. They were completely marvellous and everyone had a great time, even though some people had never done ceilidh dancing before and were a little shy."
