"We hired Dermot to play at our wedding last week as a duo. We wanted an Irish band to play during our canapés & drinks reception, all our guest said how fantastic they were & enjoyed the music. Dermot was very professional & had everyone up dancing. We will most definitely be recommending them to family & friends. Thank-you so much Dermot. "

"The music was brilliant and perfect for our wedding day. Everyone at the ceremony mentioned how nice the music was and how it give an extra special touch to the day. Rebecca was always in touch asking what songs we would like and also provided a very large list of songs she could play. I also asked her if she could play a few songs that were not on her list and she was very happy to assist. I would highly recommend this service."

"Having Absolute Band topped off our perfect day. I don't think we really got any photos as everyone was dancing from the moment they came on. In fact, I think people were even dancing to their sound check! Communication was great throughout the booking process and we liked that you could choose to add certain musicians so we included a fiddler as we wanted some Irish classics too. The band played two brilliant sets and before we knew it, the night was over. Exactly how we wanted our wedding to end, with everyone wanting more! "The musician was really talented however did not play the music requested so killed the entire vibe of the party. It was a party and we requested upbeat music alongside DJ but she used her own speaker and mellowed tunes... everyone obviously left the dance floor at this point and had to remind her of the request. She struggled with our requirements despite us being very specific on booking and even noted specific times on contract booking, did not fulfil contract and waste of £550"

Dear Hayley Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent event. I take all reviews seriously, as they help me improve my services, and I appreciate the opportunity to address some inaccuracies in your comments. The full fee you paid was £459, I understand that you felt the music selection did not align with the upbeat atmosphere you envisioned. However, I want to clarify that I arrived well-prepared with a curated playlist that included the specific tracks you requested, such as "Rebel Music" and "Ibiza Classics." Additionally, during our initial conversation, I offered to incorporate lively pop songs like "Havana," "Rather Be," and "Cheerleader" to enhance the party vibe. I left out your request to play Andrew Lloyd Webber/Starlight Express as I felt it didn’t align with the style of your event. Regarding the DJ sound levels, these were extremely loud throughout. I strive to maintain an enjoyable volume throughout my performances. While you noted that the dance floor, it was empty upon my arrival and throughout the ibiza classics with DJ last 30 minute set. I appreciated the positive feedback from many guests which indicates we’re enjoying my performances. As the event progressed, I was attentive to your requests, including the unexpected addition of a dhol drummer for the second set. I performed the "Morni" provided the Bollywood track to the DJ and performed alongside the DJ and which successfully energised the dance floor. I also addressed the issue with my electric violin volume being turned down by DJ immediately after he received feedback from guest complaining he couldn’t hear it! The booking was to perform 3x 30 minute sets I stayed on the dance floor except two 15 minute breaks and performed throughout the 2 hour duration. I made repeated requests to the DJ to play "Ibiza Classics," in line with your preferences, and I took swift action to address all requests throughout the night. The DJ consistently played track’s that were impossible for a violinist to play over such as Milkshake by Kelis. My goal is always to create memorable experiences for my clients, and I have consistently received positive feedback for over 20 years !

"When my mum passed away I knew I'd need live Irish music at the church and later at the wake. I came across Kindred Spirit duo on this site . They could not have been more perfect. Elaine on vocals and guitar was excellent and Martin on fiddle was outstanding, too. Their music was acoustic in the church when they played Lord of the Dance. It was exactly what I'd hoped for. At the venue they played a great variety of songs, including traditional and more modern, for example, The Corrs. The guests enjoyed their music and many guests took their details to book them for future events. They definitely made my mum's wake extra special - and memorable. Kindred Spirit Duo are friendly, eminently professional and very talented. In addition, they were very sensitive to the occasion. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you Elaine and Martin!"

"The Shooglers showed up and showed out for our wedding!! Everyone was raving about how fun the ceilidh was and my father in law is still talking about how the band was his favorite part of the day. I thought I would share a few samples of some of the accolades you guys received:- the band were awesome Brilliant music Everything was perfect including the music A truly fantastic band I have rarely seen such a large number of people on the dance floor having so much fun never before have we seen the dance floor packed from start to finish like that brilliant band, keep their contact details, if we ever have a function they are the band for us I can only concur with all of these sentiments. "We booked It's No' Reel to play at our wedding by Loch Lomond and couldn't have been happier with our choice of ceilidh band. Tom was very responsive when we first got in touch and gave us helpful advice on the band arrangement and set-up best suited to our venue (where they had played before), how to handle any queries on the day, ways of making the dreaded "first dance" experience as painless as possible etc. All of the admin side was very straightforward and transparent - knowing we could count on our band to show up certainly reduced our stress levels! Needless to say, everything went very smoothly on our wedding day and the band was absolutely brilliant. Most of our wedding guests were non-Scots, so having a caller was particularly useful, and the Game of Thrones theme went down a treat. I'd thoroughly recommend It's No' Reel to anyone else planning a Scottish wedding (or just a ceilidh for the sake of it!) and hope I'll have the chance to hear them play again."
