"Hi Fiddlestix! We absolutely loved our barn dance and had the most amazing time!! Thankyou all so very much and thanks again for performing the special song for us to all have a slow dance to, we really appreciated it!!!!! All our guests said how lovely the whole thing was! I just felt so awful that you didn’t get your platter of food, I’m so so sorry, I promise you it was all arranged and paid for but the pub completely forgot apparently, I was not best pleased!! There wasn’t even enough food for the rest of the guests really as so many more came than we anticipated!!!!! Anyway thanks again for being amazing ❤️ Love Zoe and Hannah xxx "

"What an amazing band! I’ve heard bands which are great at the Scottish ceilidh stuff but not very good at any other styles. I’ve heard bands which are great at pop/rock/country/indie covers but couldn’t play a ceilidh dance to save their lives. You guys are amazing! You can play all the Scottish ceilidh stuff AND make it rocky AND play all these other styles from pop to rock to country to whatever! Amazing! "

"The band were absolutely fantastic; the music was superb, the caller for the dances just bossy enough to get everybody up (exactly what I wanted), they arrived on time, were set up on time and were friendly and helpful and entered into the spirit of our event. Your band and your caller Geoff kept everyone fully involved all night long and it was a very enjoyable evening in the knowledge that essential money was raised to help people and their families affected by cancer. £1300 was raised last night after all expenses and we feel that was a decent amount. "Thank you so much for playing at our wedding last month. Everyone had such a great time. The Ceildh was perfect as it got everyone up and dancing, and no-one felt self-conscious. You played a really good mix of songs that suited all abilities and provided great guidance. It was great to end with "Strip the willow" and a 30 second "spin-as-fast-as-you-can". My husband and I danced to as many of the songs as we could, and we were knackered by the end. You really read the room, allowing breaks and continuing with the Ceildh as long as people were dancing (as we had booked the DJ package). We booked you as you had played at my friends wedding in April '17 and we had never had so much fun dancing before. We would fully recommend you to anyone planning an event, especially a wedding. I would also suggest you to anyone who isn't sure what entertainment to have. "

"Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio / Claire’s 60th Birthday / May 2025 Black Velvet Trio were absolutely perfect for the barn dance we hosted. The trio were cool, calm and professional in their ability to literally herd cats! They were able to bring a huge smile to every face which was always my wish. The musicians were brilliant at just playing wonderful barn dance music whilst we laughed and bumped and crashed about with our two and sometimes three left feet.Our last (came too quick) dance was the Swiss Roll. We all loved it and would be so happy to have Black Velvet Trio back to do it all again."

"What a superb band for our wedding party - the guys were lovely, really friendly and helpful and got everyone involved and having the time of their lives! A ceilidh is such fun and a great way to ensure *all* your guests are involved in the celebrations - there were smiles on the faces of everyone dancing, and everyone watching! I cannot recommend this highly enough - absolutely delightful, highly professional, and a total pleasure to work with to make sure we had an unforgettable evening"
