"Paul was recommended to us by a former colleague. He provided a strong three-piece band to lead a ceilidh at our wedding reception. For an intergenerational group of mixed-ability dancers (including some with no ability) he was encouraging, clear in his verbal instructions, and the band uplifting and rhythmic. Just about everybody participated in the dancing at some point or another in the evening, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Communication with Paul at all stages was straightforward and easy, and I would heartily recommend him and his ensemble should anybody be considering commissioning a ceilidh!"

"Scotch Snap made sure our daughter's 21st birthday party was a brilliant night. The dancefloor was filled from start to finish. The music was excellent- it was quite simply the best ceilidh ever!"

His communication was fantastic and more importantly than that he is a fantastic musician and it was a privilege to have him perform at our event. "Davie, I just wanted to contact you to say, ‘thank you VERY much, indeed’ to you and your band members for performing last Friday evening at the annual Grange Dyvours Tennis Club ‘Snow Ball’ and making it the tremendous success that it was. I have been to many weddings, ceilidhs and parties over the years and danced to many bands and I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, that ‘The Big Shoogle’ stands head and shoulders above the rest. Who would have thought that weaving in Pink Floyd and Deep Purple tracks in the middle of a Dashing White Sergeant would have worked but it did! You were an absolute pleasure to deal with, before our event; you all drove a considerable distance to arrive, at exactly the time requested, to set up all your equipment then, after our dinner, you returned to put on the most amazing performance. Some of our (non-Scottish) members had never danced some of the dances before but you made sure to talk everyone through what was expected, as a warm up, before the mayhem began. My face was sore laughing, at the end of some of those dances. Just brilliant. Our ‘Snow Ball’ on Friday evening was an astounding success and we have you to thank for that. Absolutely first class. P.s. Also, thanks for taking our booking for our ball, next Christmas. I wanted to get in quick to secure you as I know how much in demand you are! "

"Many thanks for making the evening a wonderful event. Everyone had enjoyed themselves thoroughly and had a fantastic evening. Your band really made a difference and was the cherry on top of the event. I have arranged with our admin guys the cheque which has been sent today. Do you perform in the west country at all? "I would give 6/5 if Google allowed! Everything was top-notch: communication and co-ordination in the run-up to the wedding, the music, the caller's instructions to the guests during the dance. The barn dancing went down a treat with the guests and was the highlight of the night! Big thanks to Murphy's Lore!"

"We had Lucy at our garden party on Saturday. She started with Etta James and it just kept getting better from there. When she did Whitney Houston we teared up a little. Then she got us dancing with bouncy country and we danced the rest of the night. It’s not easy to get our lot dancing but she did it! Thank you millions Lucy for making our night!"

"I am sure you will be pleased to hear that we raised just over £4000 this year and were able to send cheques for £2000 each to both the Air Ambulance and Shipston Home Nursing. A good result.We have now also decided on next year’s date and really hope you will be able to play for us again. It is Saturday 7th April 2018. It really makes a difference having you there."

"We hired Dermot to play at our wedding last week as a duo. We wanted an Irish band to play during our canapés & drinks reception, all our guest said how fantastic they were & enjoyed the music.
