"We were absolutely delighted. The whole thing was 'just right' and exactly what we were hoping for, including the type of dances and the calling. I have been receiving only positive feedback about it all. In fact our members are saying that it's the best Spring Celebration we've ever had. The non-dancers enjoyed it too as they were happy just listening to the music and watching the rest of us prancing about. "I first encountered The Tuning Forks fairly recently, at a 200 capacity independent venue in the Strathbungo area of Glasgow. I was there as House Audio Tech and it was one of those nights where before the soundcheck had even commenced, I had a sense that something pretty special was about to happen. The individual tones they delivered during soundcheck were staggeringly rich and I knew that once the faders were at unity and the ensemble played as a unit that my initial instinct had to be correct. I was NOT prepared for the emotive, playful and dare I say, danceable set which we were treated to. Like an organism made of limbs that mostly supported each other without obstruction, ego or flashiness, but with occasional forays into wild and feral territories; always as a unit and simultaneously bubbling like a pot on the stage with sudden bursts of joyous phrase manipulation or flurries of individual hyper-expression that always teased and never outstayed their welcome. I was left shellshocked and almost lost for words immediately following their performance. Frivolity, lullabying, romance, questing, struggle, sadness, ecstasy and introspection seemed to come like waves from the stage but, the overall feeling was that the explorations I was witness to were a fun and gentle love letter to the magic of the life experience. In summation… There are very few artists that inspire me to lower my inhibitions enough to literally ASK to work with them again as soon as possible… but that’s exactly what was called for!"

Thanks so much again for your amazing set on my birthday, everybody loved it and you hit the tone completely spot on (even with a little sprinkling of “my Tiffany” in the mix!!!) I already had a group of 80 something people on the WhatsApp for the party, and have left all your details for them to reach out for any other parties / celebrations in the future. "

"A massive thank you to you and the guys for such a wonderful evening at our wedding in France! You made the evening a night to remember for everyone and all of our guests were raving about you. Even our French neighbours, who had come up for a glass of wine and a 'mosey about', were highly entertained. We greatly appreciate the distance you travelled and the long night you had on Saturday but the wedding wouldn't have been the same without you. Having every dance danced to by guests, many of who had never ceilidhed before was better than we expected, especially with the heat! You were a pleasure to deal with in the months before and on the day, nothing seemed like it was too much trouble. We would be happy to recommend you to anyone considering a ceilidh band as you were without doubt the best, most entertaining and fun band we have come across."

"The absolute best group you could ever have at your wedding. Lilac and Remko are musical masterminds and they helped our wedding be the biggest party in town. You have to book them! Lilac and Remko rock! Absolutely one of the highlights of our day was seeing a kick-ass 8 piece get the whole room dancing to our Motown-inspired playlist. They helped with curation to ensure we picked the right floor-fillers and chucked in a couple of modern classics and a vocal cameo from one of our guests in, too. We really can't recommend them enough. Everything was smooth and our day was honestly even better because of them."

"Their musical skills and connection are amazing and produced pieces timed to perfection. Bonnie’s voice lends itself brilliantly to the range of songs they chose. Some of the covers were surprising and just worked beautifully – I would listen to their version of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” and La Roux’s “Bulletproof” all day! The audience were drawn in and Bonnie had us singing along to one of their own songs and clapping to others. After the set ended there was unanimous demand for more and they played a storming encore of The Stone Roses “She Bangs the Drums” followed by Mary Hopkin’s “Those were the Days” which everyone spontaneously joined in with. Great music, great fun and everyone smiling as they left. You can’t ask for more from a night out!"
