"Just a note to say thank you for playing at my mother’s 90th Birthday party last Saturday. She had a wonderful time and commented on how good the band was. I think that everyone enjoyed it, and also got to learn some new dances. Certainly I personally had never danced in sets of seven before. Well done!"

"I hired The Haystacks to play at my 40th birthday after seeing them perform at a friend's wedding. I would highly recommend them as they play a wide range of popular music from different decades, with the possibility of learning a favourite song to make your occasion extra special. Many popular pop songs work in there soft rock/country style as well as the more obvious classics. For example Lady Gaga Bad Romance I preferred to the pop original. So they are a good choice for a party of all ages covering many music genres."

"Hi Dermot Just to thank you for your and the band's entertainment gig at our daughters's recent wedding. It was obvious that each band member was a professional both in proficency of instrument and presentation of the music. I was also impressed with the mix of old classical Irish (re O'Carolan) and the more recent lively musical pieces. Indeed, the songs also exhibited this diversity with noted classics and singalong standards. It was assuring when the band arrived with ample time for set-up and ready to play on cue. Thanks again. "Black Velvet Band Irish Band were excellent and really added to our Irish themed evening. Lots of very traditional music. The guys were very flexible and last minute added in a Ceili set without prior knowledge which was appreciated by all and added to the fun of the evening. Very highly recommended."

"There was so much positive resonance in the air from the enjoyment you, Steve and Gordon created with your music and leadership. Many people commented on the numerous smiley faces and the delight at being with others, taking exercise. “Their best party in two years”! Thank you, all, for sharing your musical flair and enabling a fun evening. We are well aware there would be nothing without your skills. Yes, there was some rust amongst the brain cells but it was also noticeable that very few dances were sat out!"
